Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Probably just a rumor.  Then again, all 3 are big enough to do such a buyout.  And it would be a good idea for Amazon or Google to actually aquire some exclusive games.  Depends on how well Amazon and/or Google understand what it takes to succeed as a platform holder.  Some of these tech companies expect to succeed based on their tech alone.  But gaming is about games.  If you don't have good games, then it doesn't matter how good your tech is.

This seems more like a speculative reaction than anything else. Bethesda’s acquisition just open the potential of any major player to buyout other publishing companies, so now it’s Ubisoft, but next week I’ll be Capcom, etc. Until a few weeks with nothing happening, expect this kind of videos to pop more frequently...

Well this would help Microsoft in Europe I suspect. I'm all for Microsoft buying up companies as I love gamepass on PC, and especially when they are saving companies that are struggling financially (Bethesda, according to a recent report). But in this case I have mixed feelings. I'd be all for it, but I've enjoyed Ubisoft's collaborations with Nintendo and would hate for things like Mario+Rabbids to not happen again. That game was truly a gem, maybe even my game of the generation.

Yeah, the rumour is based on price development of the Ubisoft shares, which doesn't convince me. Probably some investors bought the share because after the Zenimax deal an acquisition was seen as a possibility and they wanted to get more shares for that case. And others bought into it, after the initial rise in price. So most likely nothing with real stuff behind.

I know Google said they have 1st-party studios, yet so far they haven't presented any games from them. They also bought Typhoon, which was a pretty small acquisition even before the Zenimax deal. Don't know anything about Amazon in this regard.

And yeah I agree. The tech is important but is completely useless without the games.

Microsoft seems like the most likely candidate. But even the trillion dollar company can't buy that many big studio's within months. Also I see them going for EA next for Fifa to gain a lot of ground in Europe. Kind a like what Nintendo did with monster hunter all be this a bit more fitting for a company this size to simply buy EA.

IIRC a bunch, if not all, of their licensing agreements require them to be multiplatform. FIFA loses pretty much all of its value without the licences. Plus, let's not forget that Sony once had a 1st party exclusive football game (This is Football), which was actually pretty good too, it didn't have any official licences (at least any major ones that I can remember) and it doesn't exist anymore so... exclusive football games don't really work out.

The most funny part is, that even the name FIFA is part of the licence. So without the licence they basically have nothing left.

Also I want to point out: EAs other big games are also licence based, Star Wars is licenced by Disney.

Very much doubt it. Not only did they actively resist getting bought out in the past, in case of Google the french government could have a say in this, Ubisoft being a french company and they could file a takeover from google under monopolistic practices.

Some credit to the youtuber for gifting consoles but i do not really care/hold high value about what he says if any random person can say the same shit in a stoned fantasy.

google and amazon are the ones who need it the most right now.

Ugh, this feels like when Disney bought Fox...
