So what if Nintendo isn't announcing anything because they don't have anything big ready for 2020 or they pushed it back to 2021... I've always assumed they would have something ready.

Could this mean they are clearing the way for 3rd Party games this holiday? So far Bandai Namco is working on Pokemon Snap, Konami is releasing Momotaro Dentetsu, Atlas will be launching SMT V next year but have an SMT III Nocturne ready for the holidays, Square has Bravely Default 2. Marvelous I'd also be very happy if Platinum is ready with Bayonetta 3, honestly if Bayo 3 releases I can wait until March/April 2021 for BotW 2 without any complaints.

So what we are left with is Level-5 a hot mess right now & Koei Tecmo who I doubt have anything that could sell >200K on the Switch.
And the final elephant in the room this December would be the perfect time for Capcom to drop Monster Hunter Switch in Japan... Looking at how New Horizon has exploded on the Switch... a new upgraded Monster Hunter could very easily be the biggest game in the franchise in Japan and it would be in less than one year.

Oh yeah forgot Sega... like they've seemed to forget how to make games for the Switch this year and Marvelous who actually do have something

IF capcom drops a proper new MH on switch this year... that, in and of itself, could be the death sentence for the ps5 in japan before it even takes off, like how MH3U and MH4 killed any chance of the vita competing with the 3ds.

a lot of the smaller niche devs, at that point, could start completly ignoring the ps5, while bigger but not huge devs would be stupid to not go at least cross platform.

At this point I'm starting to think MH Switch is most likely never happening.

It would make too much common sense, and when it comes to the Switch, Crapcom don't do common sense.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Nice sales from Ghost even with supply shortages. I wonder if it would've stayed on first if it didn't have any shortages.

Monster Hunter Switch worldwide release( Nintendo release in the West)? Capcom seems to rational, not good for then.

I don't think so

10 third party Switch games in the top 30. Nice.

Sony better be readying a PS5 Portable if they want the have any sway in Japan going forward. Dedicated Home Consoles are just not clicking with the Japanese consumers.

A Handheld, built on the PS5 architecture, with reductions to target 1080p would already be possible, but not ideal. Going to 5nm will give them the energy savings they need to make such a machine viable.

I’ll never stop holding out hope for a proper 3G Vita successor. I still believe a PS Phone in the proper Handheld Form Factor, with a unified OS and Library could set new records for PS hardware in Japan, and become a very successful expand of the PlayStation brand.

And cost $500 at least?

I doubt Monster Hunter will ever go to Nintendo. That would make too much sense. Hopefully Capcom at least has the sense to go multiplat and make the next MH from the ground up also on the Switch.

If BotW2 isn't ready for the holidays I wouldn't be surprised if that rumored Mario Collection is the main promoted game. Maybe with a couple first party ports mixed in, and more big third party ports now that 2020 is already the biggest year for Switch third party ports. If no BotW or other mega game, I'd love to see holiday lineup be 3D Mario Collection HD (64, sunshine, galaxy1+2 would be amazing and would be a guaranteed 10 million seller at full price), Wind Waker HD, Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, some new Nintendo AA title, along with a few big old third party ports and a few new AA third party games.

They could do a proper Mario Golf and bring back the rpg elements of GB and GBA games. Last one for 3DS was okay but they split game up and DLC was overpriced.
