That's no big whopper. We discuss already if it happens this year or next year.

no way. ps4 has a 2 million sale lead. Switch is not gonna sell 2 mil + whatever PS4 sells rest of the year.

I haven't done the maths but i expect a few holiday weeks this year at 400k+ on or around Pokemon and Smash releases. Also a larger baseline post-Smash until at least the end of Q4.

I expect some big weeks too, I think Switch broke 300k once last holidays and had a few weeks over 200k, would be surprised to see a 400k week on Smash launch and maybe a couple other 300k weeks. But still I don't think any way it beats ps4 this year. I expect it'll still be like 500k away. But we'll see! Will be fun to watch Switch start eating up the gap come November and December!

That's why i said Q4, which is at the end of March. I think it will catch up most of the 2m in holiday weeks and possibly the rest in Jan/Feb/Mar. Especially if something big is released in that timeframe. Even if it isn't, the baseline could be inflated massively for those months, due to Pokemon and Smash. Yep it's gonna be close and exciting!

If you go back a few years most on here didn't think ps4 would outsell the vita. I'm actually surprised their console beat their handheld because the ps3 sold about half the PSP. 

Reaching Gameboy and DS will be extremly tough, but beating the 3DS for a spot on the podium seems pretty feasible to me. Remember the 3DS was pretty frontloaded, I'm sure next year Switch will start outselling the 3DS in the yearly sales in Japan

Oh, I'm not saying it won't beat the 3DS. It has a chance, just not a surefire thing. As of now, I'd say it's 50/50. 

Yeah I think it has a very good chance of beating the 3DS in Japan. Think it'll end up in the high 20 milllions in Japan.

Well yeah, Switch will probably be 20m+ in Japan, at end of this year will be at 7m+, and thats in less than 2 years and still without price cut.
