While not the best chart to look at for future sales in Japan as some smaller titles can easily make the list from their dedicated fanbase I think its telling that Persona 5 is in the list twice and Xenoblade isnt in it at all but 2 WiiU games are (Smash and Zelda).
I think its quite possible that both versions of P5 outsell XCX on their own in Japan.

You have a point, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree. A pirate is a pirate. They may indeed want to play Xenoblade X, but they also wanted to play Xenoblade and that did not affect its sales in the least.


Having gone down that path before myself, I can say that you will not buy the game first week, but if there is no hope of any way to pirate the game in the near future, you will eventually break down and buy the game. That's why I left 25% out of the equation, because 10% wouldn't buy the game regardless, and 15% would still hold out the hope that the game would be pirated soon.

Hmm, interesting list, but it's japanese and Famitsu-readers. We already know Persona has biggest popularity in Japan, while Xenoblade has bigger popularity in the west. So it does not answer anything. It goes even further. Hyrule Warriors (on #4 of the list) is already released and we know japanese sales. Let's say, they didn't set the world on fire. If we extrapolate from that to Persona 5, it will fail miserably to reach 1 million. Still I doubt this feature in Famitsu has any real link to sales.

Persona has everything to grow, Atlus did a good job to push that series while Xeno series can shrink since its on wiiU.
Overall I think Xeno will be the better game, and I'm hoping the story in P5 gets more darker and please no more characters like P4 -.-

Btw, I gonna buy a WiiU just for XenoX

I really haven't seen many people comparing Xenoblade Chronicle to Persona 5...these game are on complete opposite ends of the JRPG scale.

I've seen people comparing Final Fantasy XV and Xenoblade...which well we know the end result to that(sales wise)

Overall P5 should be a better game, or at least have a more interesting setting.

X should dominate the sales though.
