HollyGamer said:Famtisu Reveals Readers Most-Wanted GamesWe try our best to stay on the up and up with regards to what our Japanese gaming counterparts are playing and looking forward to. As such, we bring to you today a poll that was given to Famitsu readers in the Land of the Rising Sun recently. Readers were told to simply record their most anticipated title and send them into the magazine; from there, Famitsu went ahead and tallied up all the votes. The results are interesting for a few reasons: 1. while portables have reigned supreme for a number of years now in the East, there is a healthy serving of console appearances on the list, 2. Sony has roughly 20 of the 30 recorded titles, and 3. There are still an impressive number of “last-gen” entries on here, with the PS3 really cleaning up in the console department.
That being said, we were surprised to see as many PS4 and WiiU games as we did. Knowing how popular the PlayStation 3 is in Japan, we fully expected the list to be dominated by it. It’s good to see the East getting excited for this gen.
Nevertheless, take a peak at the survey below and let us know what you think; see anything you, too, are interested in? We spy about 25 games we personally want.
1. (PS3) Persona 5 – 678 votes I guess that will help :) |
Hmm, interesting list, but it's japanese and Famitsu-readers. We already know Persona has biggest popularity in Japan, while Xenoblade has bigger popularity in the west. So it does not answer anything. It goes even further. Hyrule Warriors (on #4 of the list) is already released and we know japanese sales. Let's say, they didn't set the world on fire. If we extrapolate from that to Persona 5, it will fail miserably to reach 1 million. Still I doubt this feature in Famitsu has any real link to sales.
