Forums - Gaming - The XenoChronX vs Persona 5 Debate

IMO Persona 5 will be a much better game, like so much better that it's not even comparable. That is providing it still uses a turn based battle system of course.

Review scores could go either way, Persona 5 is definitely the more niche game which could help or hinder it's scores so that's tough to call.

Sales... I think Persona games don't sell as much as they deserve, so I think Xenoblade will win sales.

o_O;;;; I don't know man, Xenoblade was definitely a better JRPG to Persona 4 IMO, Persona games are not known to have huge ass budgets, that being said, I'm buying both, but just by watching the trailers again, I want to play X much much more.

Exactly what we needed.. Another worthless debate that shouldn't exist.. Anyway, XCX will be the better game. I never liked the Persona games that much.

It'll definitely be very close ...

Xenoblade Chronicles on the WII didn't even garner a million copies yet the PS4 on the other hand is having trouble in Japan which is an important territory for sales of Persona games but on the bright side we can expect that Persona 5 will have better legs on the PS4 due to the platforms sheer momentum of increasing the userbase.

Remember, Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii was pirated nearly a million times during its first year in EU.

Who cares? If pirated downloads mattered, then the PSP would have gotten all the games.

Ka-pi96 didn't like the battle system of Xenoblade, so obviously he is going to like Persona better. Though he compares the battle system to FFXII which isn't an accurate comparison at all, so who knows if he actually had played the game. Either way, I definitely agree with what you're saying. If we compare the two games off of anything but sales alone it's going to end badly for Persona. Going by their last games we can see what these games try and achieve with story, the size of the World, ambition, and graphics,  all going in favor to Xenoblade. Either way, they both will be better than XV, and be steps up in their series as a whole.

Dem Persona fans really go all out in defending the series... Damn.

In my opinion, Persona might have an edge in this one. Because it's multiplatform... BUT, this time Xenoblade X might not have limited printing, and Nintendo will probably promote it much more than the first entry, and we all know that a Nintendo logo in the front of a case does wonders most of the time. So I wouldn't call Xenoblade out.

I think both games have potential to sell quite well, as "niche" games as many of you guys think they are.

Still, the battle for JRPG of the 8th gen seems more interesting. FF XV vs Xenoblade X vs Persona 5 vs Zestiria vs Dragon Quest!!

My money is on Xenoblade, runner up FF XV.

Yep, the sad reality. Shame cause many other series will be more deserving of the runner up spot.

I think we should wait to play those games.

Famtisu Reveals Readers Most-Wanted Games

We try our best to stay on the up and up with regards to what our Japanese gaming counterparts are playing and looking forward to. As such, we bring to you today a poll that was given to Famitsu readers in the Land of the Rising Sun recently. Readers were told to simply record their most anticipated title and send them into the magazine; from there, Famitsu went ahead and tallied up all the votes. The results are interesting for a few reasons: 1. while portables have reigned supreme for a number of years now in the East, there is a healthy serving of console appearances on the list, 2. Sony has roughly 20 of the 30 recorded titles, and 3. There are still an impressive number of “last-gen” entries on here, with the PS3 really cleaning up in the console department.

That being said, we were surprised to see as many PS4 and WiiU games as we did. Knowing how popular the PlayStation 3 is in Japan, we fully expected the list to be dominated by it. It’s good to see the East getting excited for this gen.

Nevertheless, take a peak at the survey below and let us know what you think; see anything you, too, are interested in? We spy about 25 games we personally want.

1. (PS3) Persona 5 – 678 votes
2. (3DS) Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate – 649 votes

I guess that will help :)

Compare the sales of Hyryle Warriors and Super Smash Bros. 3DS then we'll talk.

lol, this data is old and the new ones is already updated. Beside SSB is aregular games that comes freqently, so there is no need for the gamers to hope this games to come (because it will come ). Another thing is this idata is just one variable data that shows what  japanese gamers want, it can change in the future with many factors like advertising, announcment etc, ect. So when  i said "this will help " it doesn't mean the actual sells will portraite  the same with the voting, it just will help with how we can predict.

Which one am I excited for? It's not even close, Persona 4 is my favorite JRPG of all time and I didn't particularly care for Xenoblade Chronicles. In terms of sales? X will probably do more than the PS4 verion of Persona 5, but PS3+PS4 will kill it.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It's actually not a debate anymore because the OP title is Persona 5 vs XenoChron X which translate to  Persona 5 (PS4+PS3) vs XenoChronX (Wii U). Persona will surely kill the games.  Ido intersted in X, that title is one of my reason i will get Wii u on the future (maybe 2015). but my prdiction is Persona 5 will win by miles.
