Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: Indies, third-party games are increasingly Vita's focus moving forward

Translation: we can't be arsed supporting our own platform.

If I could expect any game at all from the upper tier 3rd parties particularly the Japanese ones I wouldn't be mad at this. I just don't see that actually happening.

Glad I decided against getting one, I might pick one up at the end of its life cycle for really cheap.

I'm enjoying mine a lot. Nothing that interests you?

No there is, games that are out now that I'd want are Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted GA, Gravity Rush, Ys Memories of Celceta, and Tearaway.  Games coming out that I'd want are Tales of Hearts R, Gravity Rush 2 and Freedom Wars.  There's just not enough there for me to run out and buy a Vita now.

Okay. That's completely understandable.

Cut your losses short and move on. The indies, third party and Japanese games will suffice. Not to mention cross buy, PS+ , PSTV and used as a PS4 peripheral.

The Library is great already and if people ignore indies than its their fault.

Releasing a LBP game or GT portable wont move much units and will hardly be worth the time and effort. Rather have them spend more time on the PS4 early on so we don't have PS3 situation again.

Right now the biggest hardware mover left for the Vita is getting it hacked and opening it up to piracy.

Now we blame people for giving them what they don't want

What do they want?? Please do tell. They didn't want Tearaway or Killzone both great games.

Gta,Monster Hunter,Final Fantasy,Kingdoms Heart,Metal Gear Solid

We are talking about first party games. You posted all third party games which Sony has no control over. Why would any of the above release a game on the Vita when it will barely sell 1million??

Because third party is the key of any console success.

1 millions on a console with just 8 millions sale is good

Only if the first party is unable to do its job.

Lol how Wii u is doing bad it's because there not enough 3rd party support,Ps4 sold pretty well in West because it has 3rd party games  but it's doing bad in Japan because it has bad third party supports

Ah you must be mistaking me for a wii u fan. Why are you even bring g up Wii u? But since you did, if you think Wii U is doing bad because of a lack of tps, you are really dense or shortsighted. Sony platforms, have always been tp dominated because Sony first party isn't all that appealing. If tp support is so important how did wii destroy the comp last gen?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

As someone who would never buy a Vita it is great news since more Sony employees can work on PS4 games if they don't work on Vita games but if I would be a Vita owner I would be pretty mad to read that Sony doesn't care about the own system and hopes that third party devs do.

No i never though you are a wii u fan i bring up Wii u because i believe Wii u has the same problem as Vita but in a lesser extend because Nintendo first party games are more system sellers then Sony one.
Wii is an exception because  it was  an casual consoles.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I think this kind off sealed the deal about whether or not Sony will make a new handheld after Vita... they won´t.

RIP

I think I understand why Sony is saying what its saying but its also making a negative effect on their own product.

I just don't see how you can re-position your product into a new market (PSTV) when your message sounds so negative to the community you are first and foremost targeting. This is even more-so to the owners of the Vita.

Sony better advertise the PSTV to death or it could be deja vu all over again. (which is probably more likely to happen with the way they are doing things on this side of the gaming world)
