Nintendo will buy Sony, then Microsoft, and then the world. Count on it.

In all seriousness, they'll go lone wolf. Maybe buy Capcom, doubtful though. Wish they would buy back Rare :(

I doubt this would happen but I would like it if they bought Capcom. Adding Megaman, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter would be awesome.

That would kill Street Fighter and RE, no thanks.  RE in the pits anyway, but still no.

IMO the best Resident Evil's were on Nintendo consoles, Remake, 0, 4, Revelations, etc.

I can't choose between Capcom and Sega.

Sony would never sell Playstation, especially not now. Playstation is so important to Sony as a flagship consumer brand. Vaio is shot, Bravia is severely ailing, Cybershot is just another camera, and Xperia is trying but not really gaining much consumer attention. If they get out of Playstation they might as well get out of the consumer market all together and focus on making professional equipment. And does anyone seriously think Kaz is going to sell off Playstation? Not on his watch. A struggling company sells off or closes down the parts that aren;t making money, not the parts that are.

However I can see Nintendo slowly coming to the realisation that they need to appeal to the PS/Xbox crowd, but they lack the capability or desire in their own house to produce the sorts of games that will bring those gamers to Nintendo. What do you do if you can't/won't make the games that need to be made? You buy someone who can and will make those games. But outside Japan Sega and Capcom are shadows of what they were. Their premier franchises are not the hot genres anymore, though those franchises still have loyal fanbases and those fanbases would mostly follow the games. So it would be worth several millon in sales, and a more diverse look to its first party stable.

Does Sony own Yakuza or would that go to Nintendo if Nintendo bought Sega?

sega and nintendo making the wii u the lovechild of the 2 greatest gaming companys? hell yeah...

and nintendo will buy crapcome next year, when they are bankrupt.

Lol

so u think crapcome will die this year? they are burned out, nothing of the former glory is left.

You're a funny guy

who said im a guy?  and lets be realistic, crapcom isnt making great games atm. im realy not a capcom hater, i LOVE megaman and i played resi 4 20 times or so on my GC(that i bought for a good part just for resi 4).

but i cant stay quite about the way they are doing business, they act like the asshole little brother of EA most of the time.

nintendo would be a great partner for them, if nintendo fires a lot of people there.

Buying Sega or Capcom are possibilities but I think the mergers and acquisitions Iwata was talking about were with regards to developers rather than publishers. They need to get some Western developers under their belt.

Guys really I've been thinking about Apple and Nintendo.. Apple should buy out Nintendo... Apple could provide the resources for a quality console and Nintendo could provide the quality games still using mario and company as their flagship characters!!! You guys agree? :)

Please no... I don't want to pay $5000 for hardware that has the same power level as the gamecube...

lol... come on hun I kno apple is known for high pricing but they would be smart in this market... They are very innovative and they would obviously set prices to compete with the competition, while nintendo's brilliant gaming side would support apples innovation... I dunno the thought just sounds genious to me... I've had a few drinks lol. Oh well just my thoughts.. :)

A better idea would be what they have hinted at already, making the handheld and console hardware similar (like brothers in Iwata's own words) that have the same software so that they can reduce R&D costs while at the same time increase their software output.

Nintendo has struggled to sufficiently support two platforms at once (evidence of this is 3DS great support in 2013 while Wii U had a long drought) but they can give excellent support to a single platform. From Nov 2012-May 2014 Nintendo first party games have included Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros U, Game & Wario, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Mario & Luigi Dream Team, Pokemon X/Y, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, Super Mario 3D World, Zelda Link Between Worlds, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Golf, Mario Party, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and probably some im missing plus eshop/virtual console titles.

Then add in the 2nd/3rd party support these consoles combined have gotten in the same time frame, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Lego City Undercover, Assassin's Creed 3+4, Call of Duty BO2+Ghosts, Monster Hunter 4, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest Monsters 2,  Puzzles & Dragons, Skylanders Giants+Swap Force, Scribblenauts Unlimited+Unmasked, Just Dance 4+2014, Batman Arkham City+Origins, Splinter Cell, Disney Infinity, Sonic Lost World, Wonderful 101, Project X Zone, Professor Layton, Ace Attorney, Attack on Titan, Yokoi Watch, Disney Magical Castle, Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Harvest Moon, and a ton of other niche Japanese games.

Thats the type of support we can expect from 1.5 years of this unified handheld/console. Make them affordable and sell them at a profit from day one and Nintendo will be in a great position.

Nintendo Fusion Portable-$199, moderately more powerful than Vita, renders games in 720p

Nintendo Fusion Home-$199, slightly more powerful than Wii U, renders games in 1080p

Both launch holiday 2016 giving 3DS 5.5 years and Wii U 4 years.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

At least Capcom would never be allowed to include on-disc DLC again. Hopefully.

Nintendo should buy Sega. I want to see Sonic become a Mario clone! ( Lost World doesn't count!)

That is a terrible idea.

Apple is interested in high margin hardware sales to their.....lets just say enthusiastic....supporters.

They aren´t content producers and rather get their 30% iOS cuts.

It would be almost as bad as Disney or Microsoft buying Nintendo.
