Nintendo - Nintendo merger? - View Post

I can't choose between Capcom and Sega.

Sony would never sell Playstation, especially not now. Playstation is so important to Sony as a flagship consumer brand. Vaio is shot, Bravia is severely ailing, Cybershot is just another camera, and Xperia is trying but not really gaining much consumer attention. If they get out of Playstation they might as well get out of the consumer market all together and focus on making professional equipment. And does anyone seriously think Kaz is going to sell off Playstation? Not on his watch. A struggling company sells off or closes down the parts that aren;t making money, not the parts that are.

However I can see Nintendo slowly coming to the realisation that they need to appeal to the PS/Xbox crowd, but they lack the capability or desire in their own house to produce the sorts of games that will bring those gamers to Nintendo. What do you do if you can't/won't make the games that need to be made? You buy someone who can and will make those games. But outside Japan Sega and Capcom are shadows of what they were. Their premier franchises are not the hot genres anymore, though those franchises still have loyal fanbases and those fanbases would mostly follow the games. So it would be worth several millon in sales, and a more diverse look to its first party stable.

Does Sony own Yakuza or would that go to Nintendo if Nintendo bought Sega?
