Remember a couple months ago or so when Iwata said they were considering aquisitions or mergers? I feel like the significance of this got overlooked. Nintendo is quite clearly not going third party, and with the stubborness against smartphone games how will they survive with so little third party support many ask. What if they survive by merging with an independent playstation branch (after it breaks off from the rest of failing sony) to form a new company that sells multiple hardware options but every game can be played on any system in the family? I think this would be an option. Which is most likely to you?

So, if you are saying that Nintendo would be part of Sony, than I would say no but if you are saying that Nintendo will buy/merge some part of Playstation and will be in no way part of Sony, then I say maybe but still No... But if you mean Sony sells Playstation to Nintendo.. Thats a maybe but I don't see it working out, specially for Sony but for Nintendo, it would be good

I just doubt Sony can really deal with so many branches at the rate they're downsizing. They could make a ton by selling ps, dumping the vita, and restructuring. I feel the same way about Microsoft with xbox.

I doubt this would happen but I would like it if they bought Capcom. Adding Megaman, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter would be awesome.

Well, if Nintendo somehow could acquire Sega or Capcom it would do them good for sure.

Buy Xbox division? Hm. If Microsoft really wanted to sell it and it was a good deal for both, then perhaps. But I don't see it ever happening. Microsoft wouldn't sell the Xbox division, it's not in their nature to lose. I think they would simply just drop out or rather change the Xbox brand into something else rather than selling it to anyone.

And the rest is also a no, can't see it happening. But for me it would be really nice if Nintendo and PlayStation did, in any way, co-operate, merge or acquire one another. But I can't see it happening.
