I doubt this would happen but I would like it if they bought Capcom. Adding Megaman, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter would be awesome.

That would kill Street Fighter and RE, no thanks.  RE in the pits anyway, but still no.

Why would it kill those games? Street Fighter IV port on 3DS did over 1 million and Resident Evil Revelations has sold close to 1 million on 3DS+Wii U, the Gamecube Resident Evil games were able to average about 1.5 million a piece.

Street Fighter V+Resident Evil 7 exclusive to Nintendo's next handheld+console could sell 2-3 million each.

The 3DS SF game is an example of why it would be killed, shipped 1m on release, didn't ship another 100k for almost 2.5 years.  It failed to sell through to consumers, and nearly all the sales were at bargain bin prices which SSFIV 3DS has been since a couple months after release.

Every Nintendo exclusive main RE title has been bad for the series.  REmake and RE0 sold only 1.25m and 1.35m, RE4 1.6m, all terrible sales and massive drops from other games in the series. Your 1.5m average isn't remotely right and even it was it is terrible sales for the series.  Revelations clearly did not do well or they would not have ported it so quickly.

Existing WiiU fighters like Injustice or TTT2 show there isn't demand for fighters on Nintendo systems, even exclusives like TvC on Wii never did very well, incase want to argue those WiiU games are multiplat.  Please don't even try and point at SSB, isn't a real fighter and it sells because it is Nintendo only.  When new gen fighters get made and are Xbone/PS4 only it would just further alienate SF from those consoles userbases.

1 million is pretty good for a 2 year old port that had already sold over 5 million on other hardware. As an exclusive for Nintendo's next handheld+console 2-3 million isnt out of the question and is solid sales regardless of it being less than its predeccessors.

Resident Evil 4-1.69

Resident Evil Remake-1.42

Resident Evil Zero-1.29

Total-4.4, Average-1.47

Thats pretty damn close to 1.5 million

Also I firmly believe Resident Evil 4 would have sold better if Capcom didnt announce a PS2 port a few months before the Gamecube version released. Over 2 million could have been possible.

It doesnt matter that these games would sell less than previous installments because it would no longer be Capcom paying to make them, Nintendo would be and they are usually pretty good about keeping budgets under control. As long as they can keep a decent size audience (2 million is decent) and make a profit than who cares?

Why would the other party want it? why not wait and see if things get worse and maybe the'll get to pick and choose parts of Ninty they want.

Dude, that pic is so hilarious. Maybe it's just because I've gotten through a twelve hour night shift, but, that made me laugh my ass off. I'm all teary eyed from laughing! Thank you.....

They should've bought Atlas...biggest missed opportunity ever

Nintendo bought back about 10% of it's stock in preparation of the acquisition. Think of a company where 50% of it's value is no more than about 1.5-2 Billion $US.

Guys really I've been thinking about Apple and Nintendo.. Apple should buy out Nintendo... Apple could provide the resources for a quality console and Nintendo could provide the quality games still using mario and company as their flagship characters!!! You guys agree? :)

Please no... I don't want to pay $5000 for hardware that has the same power level as the gamecube...

lol... come on hun I kno apple is known for high pricing but they would be smart in this market... They are very innovative and they would obviously set prices to compete with the competition, while nintendo's brilliant gaming side would support apples innovation... I dunno the thought just sounds genious to me... I've had a few drinks lol. Oh well just my thoughts.. :)

I think the real question here is what are you sipping on :)? I voted for an Apple merger as well. It would be a good way for Nintendo to enter the mobile market plus have an endless supply of disposable income for research and development.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

I think a partnership (not an outright merger) with Sony would be best for a couple of reasons even if some gaming fanboys can't see past them being "rivals" (in a pretty loose sense these days) nowadays.

For one, Sony is not big enough to force Nintendo to do things they wouldn't want to do. The problem with joining with an Apple or MS or even Disney, is those companies are large enough to purchase a majority stake of Nintendo shares, and could then run the company into the ground (see: what MS did to Rare). Part of me thinks Apple would cultivate and allow Nintendo the time/resources to make quality games, but it just as easily could turn out that they want them to pump out a ton of 99 cent Mario/Pokemon apps with a ton of DLC.

Sony doesn't have that level of cash, they'd have to work together with Nintendo.

Secondly Sony's president is Kaz Hirai, a Japanese video game veteran ... so he would understand and know how to talk shop with Nintendo's management ... Apple/Disney/MS' head management are not from the game industry and just view the business as another branch. So if Nintendo has a problem they can go straight to the top and talk to head honcho, and he will know where they're coming from.

Capcom/Sega ... hate to say it but both these studios are past their prime and have lost most of their best employees. Nintendo needs fresher IP too ... the most "recent" hit franchise either of these studios has come up with is Monster Hunter, and Nintendo already pretty much has exclusivity over that.

Capcom would probably let Nintendo make Megaman games already if they really wanted to, so that just leaves Resident Evil, which has seen better days, and Street Fighter, neither of which really dramatically change Nintendo's position in the marketplace.

Nintendo will merge with Apple AND Disney. The massive new company will buy Capcom, Sega, and Square Enix, it will then burn their rivals to the ground.

And then they will EXPLODE!!!!!

So sadly we won't be able to see the results of that.

Yep.
