The first part is true. The second... why?

Final Fantasy 13 was a big hit in Japan, with nearly 2 million sales, but it's been declining. outsold 13 by over 0.4 million, 10 outsold 12 by a similar margin, and all three PSone Final Fantasy games outsold X. Including FF9, which was outsold 2:1 in the West by X. The series has obviously been declining, ESPECIALLY since the PS2 was such a hit in Japan that the relative dcline was even bigger.

I wouldn't be surprised if Final Fantasy 15 continued the downward trend. Is it really that radical a prediction to guess that it'll sell less than 1.5 million on the PS4, for example? Bear in mind that recent spinoffs have done even worse these past couple of years. 13-2 is well below a million and Lightning Returns may never reach half a million in Japan, compared to X-2's 2.11 million. Dissidia 2 only sold half of the original, X HD is hovering around a quarter million, Theatrhythm was a bigger hit in America, wtc.

As for the PS4 selloing at least 10 or 11 million consoles in Japan, I have to ask why. Final Fantasy is declining, Resident Evil declined drastically from 5 to 6, the Warriors games seem to be losing steam at the moment, Metal Gear Solid did better on the PSP than the PS3, meaning the fandom is more likely to be Vita owners, Gran Turismo 7 is years away... what are the big games going to be that make lots of people buy PS4's? I'm thinking Warriors-type games and Yakuza alone can make the PS4 a hit, but Western games are still not big enough in Japan to justify a system's existence.

If Japan bought less than 12 million consoles Gen 8, I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't know ... It would only make sense that the 3DS version would cannibalize the WII U version given the fact it's on a better platform.

Anyway, I think that over time the 3DS will eventually come back to take the top spot every so often. Let's not forget, the 2DS is yet to be released in Japan. Assuming that the 2DS is released in Japan in 2014, it is pretty much guaranteed that for that week or two the 3DS will have the top spot.

You should exclude december  from your prediction, nintendo consoles always sell much better at christmas, that will be the only month of 3DS domination

I agree with you, but Super Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7, Star Fox 64 3D, and Street Fighter IV 3D were all in 2011

Haha. You are very funny , Ryan. Those huge PS4 numbers in Japan aren't going to last too much. The PS4 will do good numbers in 2014 and maybe 2015, but that's it.
