Its on the internet so it must be true?

Wiiu having trouble running most 360/ps3 games  makes anything believable, who would have thought this would happen after such a long generation.

Wiiu having trouble running most 360/ps3 games?  What 360/ps3 games are those?

AC4 is a good example, running about 25-30% slower then the PS360.

Yes if devs and publishes could releases there games on N consoles and make money they would do it in a heart beat, this is obvious unless you think companies hate money....

It is Nintendos doing why their consoles are unattractive to most third parties and seen as a waste of time. They have done little to try to change this.

Name me ten 3rd party exclusive games on the Wii or Wii U that you would've bought if they were exclusives on the PS3/XBOX360.

It's not Nintendo's fault third party devs are inept.

I see no reason why an AAA Crash Bandicoot exclusive wouldn't sell on the Wii U. They just aren't trying.

I don't doubt for a second that Nintendo is really hard to work with when you run into trouble and have to contact them. The fact that the developer had to wait a week before getting an answer which was probably about very specific hardware problems, coupled with that the question had to be translated to Japanese and the answer back to English, just smells trouble. The translation team probably weren't even familiar with the hardware! Still it's hard to grasp that Nintendo still has challenges with online after almost ten years from the competition...

The least I can say is definitely that Nintendo's "unique approach" means don't give a damm about third parties. If they want support from western third parties, even though it sure as hell don't look like they want, they desperately need to get out of their bubble. Best of luck to Nintendo in the coming years, I would really like to see how they handle the whole Wii U affair from here and out.

Yep.

I don't give a beep anymore... I don't buy Nintendo consoles for 3rd party titels...and I don't think I'm alone in that regard.

Considering we are about the same age, surely you remember the NES and SNES. Wasn't it much better when we could play Metal Gear, Contra, Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat, Tecmo Bowl AND Mario?

Nitnendo HAS to fix this for their next console. It's vital.

Nonsense. Many companies do things that are against their own interests, especially when it means changing the present model they use to generate money. In fact I'd go as far as to suggest that most fight it tooth and nail.

The technology is there for ala cart channels. We don't have them. We could have unlocked cell phones and treat the cell companies that provide access much like Europe. It is clear that streaming helps many hidden gem cable shows cultivate bigger audiences so said providers decide to lock away the content in ever more painful and inaccessible ways.

In fact the reason we get financial bubbles is because people repeate delusions to themselves about the rules of the game and why they don't have to follow them. Housing always goes up. The internet has changed the nature of stocks so that revenue and earnings don't matter. We don't have to develop for the Wii because they aren't hardcore, are just a fad and will stop selling soon.

When the right change comes though, it sweeps away the entire prior model. Apple did this with the iPhone and you can see all the crappy small screen keyboard phones that were fighting it out before it showed up. However someone had to say, what if you don't need a keyboard for that to happen.

Nintendo did that last generation and a good chunk of the market just refused to go along. It's clear that Windows PC's are pretty much a dead end now. There are people following that model into the abyss though.

There are plenty of studies showing that most people now watch television with some sort of second screen in participation. They might be tweeting about the show they are watching or browsing FB or goodness knows what.

The point is that most devs are like shoe salesmen. They see what is selling and try to make or order a bunch more. If they end up with too much or get wiped out, it doesn't matter. There was not vision or thought, just copying and repeating.

AC4, batman orgins, and COD ghosts are all running 5-10 frames behind the 360/ps3 versions, and most launch games had the same problem, AC3, blops 2, micky mouse, and batman arkham city, even resident evil revelations.

it's the way you worded it that i had "trouble" with.  360/ps3 games run fine on the Wii U.  Calling one or two frame drops "trouble running" sounded hyperbole.

It's not just momentary frame drops, just go look at the DF video with the PS360 version of AC4 running mostly between 32 & 26 FPS consistantly (with an occasional momentary drop, especially on PS3) but the Wii U version struggles to maintain even 24 FPS and goes all over the map when stuff is actually happening, spending lots of time in 20 fps land.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QGNeLufdAU "The biggest issue with the Wii U version is its lacklustre performance level, the game visibly struggling even to match the inconsistent update of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game." - Digital Foundry

I don't understand why anyone would be surprised by this, it is quite clear that Nintendo have fallen out of the market and industry loop quite some time ago.

Nothing he is talking about seems unrealistic.
