Yes if devs and publishes could releases there games on N consoles and make money they would do it in a heart beat, this is obvious unless you think companies hate money....

It is Nintendos doing why their consoles are unattractive to most third parties and seen as a waste of time. They have done little to try to change this.

Nonsense. Many companies do things that are against their own interests, especially when it means changing the present model they use to generate money. In fact I'd go as far as to suggest that most fight it tooth and nail.

The technology is there for ala cart channels. We don't have them. We could have unlocked cell phones and treat the cell companies that provide access much like Europe. It is clear that streaming helps many hidden gem cable shows cultivate bigger audiences so said providers decide to lock away the content in ever more painful and inaccessible ways.

In fact the reason we get financial bubbles is because people repeate delusions to themselves about the rules of the game and why they don't have to follow them. Housing always goes up. The internet has changed the nature of stocks so that revenue and earnings don't matter. We don't have to develop for the Wii because they aren't hardcore, are just a fad and will stop selling soon.

When the right change comes though, it sweeps away the entire prior model. Apple did this with the iPhone and you can see all the crappy small screen keyboard phones that were fighting it out before it showed up. However someone had to say, what if you don't need a keyboard for that to happen.

Nintendo did that last generation and a good chunk of the market just refused to go along. It's clear that Windows PC's are pretty much a dead end now. There are people following that model into the abyss though.

There are plenty of studies showing that most people now watch television with some sort of second screen in participation. They might be tweeting about the show they are watching or browsing FB or goodness knows what.

The point is that most devs are like shoe salesmen. They see what is selling and try to make or order a bunch more. If they end up with too much or get wiped out, it doesn't matter. There was not vision or thought, just copying and repeating.
