We know it wouldn't exist without Nintendo, Platinum confirmed as such.

Why on earth would they release a sequel to a game that had nothing to do with Nintendo's platform? This will likely go multiplat, no way they can continue their relationship with Nintendo and the failing Wii U. I for one wouldn't buy it even if I planned on getting a Wii U. It's a slap in the face for the fans. |
Define how many it has to sell, to be considered a flop (or not longer a flop). Then define how many less it has to sell to FLOP HARD. If you say it flops hard, if it sells less than 5 million, I can agree without a doubt, that it will flop hard. If you say it flops hard if it sells less than 10K, than I will disagree and say it will not flop hard. As long as you don't define what makes a flop for you, we cannot discuss your statement.

What other studio was going to pick up a cancelled game almost certain to lose money? Only Nintendo had the motive; they needed "hardcore" exclusive for their new console.
It's completely logical why only Nintendo showed interest.
| reggin_bolas said: Shouldn't be that hard to bring it to PS4/XB1. They could even try to kickstart the damn thing. I just know that the game will bomb because the people who enjoyed the first one aren't going to buy the Wii U anytime soon. |
Kickstart works for Indies, because ... well the budget is smaller. For games like Bayonetta you need a sugar daddy who pays for the game and has deep pockets. You could kickstart the game - but for a game like Bayo that would mean a 3-hours-game (for episode 1) and then the next kickstart for the next 3 hours.

If Nintendo didn't pick it up was always a chance for someone else to sooner or later. Going Nintendo only is probably worse for Boyonetta fans, now there isn't even that chance. |
Sooner or later someone else can pick up Bayonetta 3. I doubt that the franchise was completely bought by Nintendo, I think Sega kept it's rights of the thing, and only Bayonetta 2 is Nintendo-published. So the chance keeps intact and the franchise is kept alive in the time.

Bayonetta switching to Wii U doesn't make sense. I think it's a bad move for both the fans and the game. And hardly good news for Nintendo. |

for the love of... Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo. It was not going to be made, Ninty stepped in and funded it. What part of this dont you understand? |
thank you, saying it'll flop is one thing debatable(even tough it might), but blaming nintendo is probably the worst thing gamers can say this generation. Nintendo saved it, no matter if it sells 1,000 units lifetime, tats 1,000 more than wat it would be if nintendo never stepped up! Thats for looking at the whole picture Oni!

Wait and see is the best approach. No need for fanboyism.
If Nintendo can get WiiU sales going and given this game launches sometime next year, I can see it doing up to 1m lifetime. I really can't see more since, well, looking at mature rated games on the Wii.
Edit: 1m not a flop. Dissapointing in general, but not a flop.
