i can understand why the first bayonetta flopped. Most ppl never heard of it, interest was low, and when you did hear something it was pushy like 'get it, it's under appreciated'. Anyone who took a chance and played it; and likes fast action, fantastic visuals, and maneuver uprades; new it was one of the greatest games of all-time. Edge put it in top ten.
Now ppl know enough to be curious and it's out of reach just far enough to make ppl obsess over it. I think it will be a million seller. The attach rate will be very high. And thank god. We need more continuations because it's the only game of it's kind that can give itagaki's ninja gaiden a punishing. Bayonetta on 360 set the bar. Such an impossible feat!

This thread is a slap in the face of intelligence.

Why on earth would they release a sequel to a game that had nothing to do with Nintendo's platform? This will likely go multiplat, no way they can continue their relationship with Nintendo and the failing Wii U. I for one wouldn't buy it even if I planned on getting a Wii U. It's a slap in the face for the fans.

They went that route before and closed shop. PS3 and Xbox 360 didn't sell enough copies to warrant another game. Slap yourself and smell the coffee. Bayonetta 2 will do well on the Wii U. I know I will enjoy it and think of the people like you. Cause it's not coming to your console of choice it will flop.

I know that Ni No Kuni is on 3ds but the PS3 version is not a slap in the face to DS only gamers. I dont see how that's even possible according to @Okrs post |
Ni No Kuni is on DS, not 3DS. And I should have been more specific: Not the existance of Ni No Kuni and Tales of Graces on PS3 are a slap in the face of (western) DS only and Wii only gamers, but the missing localizations. I know Level-5's excuse regarding Ni No Kuni (the book), but I still have a hard time believing them in this case, I still think there could have been an affordable solution. I bought both games for PS3, but I can understand those western JRPG fans who have just a DS or Wii and were extremely disappointed to learn that they'll never get these games on their systems (the missing localization of Tales of Graces on the system it was developed for - while western PS3 owners did not only get a localization of the port, but even a special edition - is an outright insult imo).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Ni No Kuni on the DS sold better in Japan than the PS3 version, and the DS version never got a western release. |
Not my fault it never recieved a western release, and it doesn't change the fact that ni no kuni did better on the ps3
Don't be dumb. Nintendo funded the game to be made exclusively on Wii U because Sony and MS shit on Platinum for a sequel, so it's up to Nintendo to have it released multi-plat (which is not gonna happen obviously). Platinum is considering becoming a Nintendo studio now. So if they do, if you need your Bayonetta/PG fix, have $299 ready for a Wii U because they'll be making exclusives for Nintendo.
As for the Nintendo part. I couldn't care less, but if you care about the game just buy a used Wii U, finish Bayonetta 2 then sell both the day after that, or watch a youtube video
As for the flop part, I agree. It will not sell as bad as those poor Ubisoft ports, nor W101 cause it's totally niche, but still will sell poor. It has exclusivity going for it, as well as small but dedicated Bayonetta fanbase, and Nintendo fanboys who will buy the game for several reasons like it being exclusive, fact that they want to show that mature games can sell on Nintendo hardware, that 3rd party games can sell well on Wii U and encourage more 3rd parties on board, all that jazz, even though they normally wouldn't be interested in a game otherwise. I don't know how many of those are there.
My prediction is 500k in the foreseeable future selling at a decent price range, and after that crawling up with low numbers at bargain bin prices. Maybe something like 700-800k LTD.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

Both parts of your sentence don't make sense: I think no one blamed you for the missing western release of Ni No Kuni DS and the DS version actually would have had a very high chance to have matched or even topped the worldwide sales of the PS3 version if it had been localized (DS: 540k Japan only vs. PS3: 860k worldwide).

This is bad advice, drop your PS4 preorder and buy a Wii U. The Zelda bundle will be perfect for you.
