This. I dont know why M$ opted for doing this; but it is the reason of the DRM the console has. They need to stop the content for being distributed freely as you dont require the disk anymore after installing the game.

Also taking away live subscription as a way to access apps like Netflix etc . It's just been revealed you will not need a premium sub on sonys machine to access and use your apps . Microsoft should rectify this ASAP
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...
I guess we all know what most gripes with Ms are so... lose those, add free online multiplayer and they'll probably earn a head start.

Ill be honest; terrible time to be an xbox fan, especially when I know that MS is being extremely anti-consumer like.

I'll trade paying for play but having access to your apps without doing so for free online play but paying to access your apps everyday.
Yeah Sony did well with the DRM and price. I didn't watch their conference but that's the biggest take away I'm getting from reading people's objective comments. MS brought the games, Sony brought the lower price and less restrictions. I don't really think that MS cares though, they seem to be targeting people who can afford their console and games and stable internet in the first place. I'ts easy to say that the cheapest console will destroy but I'm not so sure about that. I guess we'll see but I'm happy for Sony fans that they are at least getting some of what they hoped for.
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
They could trump Sony if they do the following:
#1.) Lower the entry price.
#2.) Remove mandatory installs
#3.) Remove online requirements
#4.) Allow game lending and game rentals
#5.) Allow private selling of retail games we OWN
Could name some more, but these are the bigger ones.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

that's the best part of the console, will help developers a lot for game development if the whole game runs from the hdd...
i think 24h check won't be really a problem even when most on forums say that. next gen will be pretty much almost all about online. ps4 as well... but they should stop with the used games and no rental stuff.
DRM is my only concern. Let me sell my games on craigslist and I then consider both consoles on equal footing.
