Also taking away live subscription as a way to access apps like Netflix etc . It's just been revealed you will not need a premium sub on sonys machine to access and use your apps . Microsoft should rectify this ASAP

I'll trade paying for play but having access to your apps without doing so for free online play but paying to access your apps everyday.

Took some time to understand what you are saying, LOL agreed though.

YES! IT TOOK ME A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE THAT THING xDDDDD I was like "wait, I'm writing it correctly?"

MS could still win this one. Im just not sure how at this point.

They could trump Sony if they do the following:

#1.) Lower the entry price.
#2.) Remove mandatory installs
#3.) Remove online requirements
#4.) Allow game lending and game rentals
#5.) Allow private selling of retail games we OWN

Could name some more, but these are the bigger ones.

Yeah pretty much this. I don't think MS is going to outright drop the price $100 to match Sony, they might take too much of a loss with that.

It's just that simple.

There's always time to win or lose, I mean look how lots of people wrote off the PS3 (me included - and now i think its the best supported console of the three)...

But... I do wonder what MS next move will be. It could be a pride thing, or a bullish thing, where you think, you know what forget the internet moaning - just continue to do what were doing. Look at all the crap Kinect got, it still sold 24 million copies... they spent lots on advertising and it worked, perhaps they feel thats the same plan this time.

*THOUGH* it is very quiet from MS right now, which is perhaps more telling.

they can get most of their fanbase back if they remove mandatory game installs.

It's not the installs, it is the ability to play without the disc. You can keep installs, but just make people put the disc in. Most reports seem to suggest that the PS4 will require installs too

Describe to me in detail how this install process works on PS4 if you can, im misinformed.

It's okay Wright, maybe IF Microsoft can get their heads out of the clouds then they'll realize what they've done.

the used game policy is the biggest factor by a mile for me. i profit off gaming at the moment

Still dont care about any of the "obstacles" and "roadblocks". None of them affect me. Pre-ordered my X1 and can't wait.

All the hate will just make my pre-order number come up faster.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Well as far as I can tell, you put the disc in and as you start playing, it loads the data onto the HDD. It is not like an installation for a PC/Xbone game where you need some sort of key, it is just a datadump that is useless without the disc in.

I haven't seen this from anything official, but it is what most people seem to be suggesting
