Wii, sure. Well, until the PS3 had its first holiday season in Europe |
My apologies, that's what I meant. But the PS3 has always been strong in the EU and less so in America. Another great example of America == world.

I included the week ending 5th of January because I thought VGChartz would include that in its total 2012 sales. But I forgot the week ending on the 29th isn't an actual holiday week anymore (see my last post) so yeah that week it will drop (not as low as 200k maybe because of Japan but it will drop). Still thanks for pointing it out

Thanks. You are right, the launch-numbers in the US are very good, not only OK. But Wii did good outside launch and holidays, something we will have to wait for for WiiU.
The sales-performance of the WiiU is unexpected for me. I expected it to do worse than the Wii but better than PS3 and 360, but I expected it more or less same decrease over all regions. So far we are only some weeks after launch, but it show (unexpectedly for me) that it can perform on the same level as the Wii in the US, but performs much worse in Europe. Note that Wii nearly kept it's direction in the following weeks, while the WiiU trails downwards. At the moment I have no explanation for the different reception in the regions.
And I agree with conegamer: you should do that in a thread and compare later with PS4 and Durango too.

the best thing about that graph is that it can't be used for predicting anything.

UK Halo 4 sales are up 1k this week to just over 60k. Pretty disappointing but an increase is an increase! Perhaps ioi was taking away overtracked sales from previous weeks out of this weeks sales?
Anyway, next week sales should be a good bit higher. UK retail goes mad at Christmas

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Yea but its a weeks before christmas lol, i remember times when there was 2 or 3 (mostly nintendo products) at 1, 2 3, 4 mill+ during late november early december. Time definatly a changin.

yeah, i think 5M could be achievable with a certain amount of channel stuffing. i can't say i'm too up to date on wiiU's releases early next year but i think rayman should do well. nintendo fans tend to like platformers and rayman is a really good one. i'm still upset about how murphy plays out but it will probably be a good title overall.

It would have the best chance. Good point!

The worst thing about that graph is that PS3 launched in March lol, vs. everyone else launching in November |
No, the worst thing about this graph is that it doesn't show the full picture. The PS3 came out of the gate running but fell flat on it's face soon after. give this graph a couple of weeks and you'll see.
Here's also JP and global (3 regions combined). Not really that helpful with only 2 weeks of data but whatever.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Yes, it was a great launch for PS3. It has to do with the fact, that it came months later, people couldn't wait, some games had already arrived and so on. But nonetheless, the launch was very great, and for some time it looked back then, as if europe really had saved the PS3. But after that came a long time of sluggish sales, before it started to the levels it has now.
