As I said, WiiU does OK in most regions, but can you do the same graph for Europe? In numbers it looks horrible.

It's not "OK" to pass the Wii, that's an understatement. And yes, in europe Wii U doesn't look good right now, but it's also not too far away from the pack.

Thanks. You are right, the launch-numbers in the US are very good, not only OK. But Wii did good outside launch and holidays, something we will have to wait for for WiiU.

The sales-performance  of the WiiU is unexpected for me. I expected it to do worse than the Wii but better than PS3 and 360, but I expected it more or less same decrease over all regions. So far we are only some weeks after launch, but it show (unexpectedly for me) that it can perform on the same level as the Wii in the US, but performs much worse in Europe. Note that Wii nearly kept it's direction in the following weeks, while the WiiU trails downwards. At the moment I have no explanation for the different reception in the regions.

And I agree with conegamer: you should do that in a thread and compare later with PS4 and Durango too.

Comparing the Wii launch and Wii u launch at this stage is pointless since in the US, the supply of Wii's was strained for 2 years, we never got a full account of how much it would have sold if demand was meet.  Here with the Wii U, we are seeing supply and demand pretty much equal and the Wii U hasnt been able to breach ~155k-ish level going on 3 weeks now ater its 400k start

Hitmans sales in the UK doubled this week!

360 version last week: 35k
360 version this week: 70k

PS3 version last week: 30k
PS3 version this week: 60k

The reason for this is because it's been reduced to £20 pretty much everywhere

Only reason why WiiU is able to keep up with Wii sales in US  is because Wii had massive shortages when it launched. It literally could have sold double the amount it sold if there would have been unlimited amount of supply. And well...European launch of WiiU has been horrible considering the success of Wii. Vita level of bombing in EU.

NICE @ Super Mario land. Glad to see it still selling great.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

OMG Vita outsells WiiU this week in UK!!!!!!!!

PS3 and X360 sellthrough rates are pretty amazing for console near their ends

Couple of milestones about to drop
X360 software about to pass Wii software in the US (even with Wii sports included)
X360 about to pass Wii in total sales in the UK (probably by years end)
X360 only 2 mill behind Wii for total sales in the US

Good point about the Wii-shortages (also train wreck). So I think my wording should be ... good launch for most regions (as WiiU does more than PS3 and X360 at launch). Over the long run WiiU should sell lower than Wii, but good enough if we extrapolate that.

Except for Europe. I would not say Vita-levels (has someone the numbers of Vita launch), but it is definitely bombing in Europe. And as a european I have no idea why it sells so different here compared to other regions.

When was the last time no console sold a million+ during the holiday season?

edit: this late in the holiday season.  I suspect that next weeks numbers will have at least 1 system at 1 million

Your suspicions are invalid.

1,072,725 - Xbox 360

885,066 - PS3

In other words, not a snowballs chance in hell of any console over 1 million next week.
