Forums - Sales - iPhone 5 sales could hit 10 million in first week

Apple iPhone 5 sales could climb as high as 10 million, and that's just in the device's first week, says Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.

The iPhone maker sent out invitations yesterday to a product event on September 12 in which it's expected to launch the next-generation iPhone. Previous reports had pointed to that day and also cited Friday, September 21, as the date the phone will go on sale.

With that date in mind, an investors note released today by Munster projects iPhone 5 sales of anywhere from 6 million to 10 million. That estimate covers September 21 to the end of the month.

Last year, Apple sold 4 million iPhone 4S units during that phone's first three-day weekend in October. A full 10 million in sales over a little more than one week seems attainable this year, as long as there's enough supply to meet demand.

Destroying everything.

That would be insane!
How much did Iphone4s sell in its first full week? I remember it did wonders.

It needs to be a good phone to tempt me from my iPhone 4. The iPhone 4s was a huge let down.

The new Nokia 920 is the phone to have as far as I am concerned after today. If iPhone 5 beats it then I'm in, otherwise I'm back to nokia for the first time in years.

The fact that I can use this phone with gloves on is in itself a mind boggling improvement!! Lol.

What do you think about the GALAXY S3? I believe it is generally considered as the best phone on the market right now.

It sold 4 million in its first 3-day weekend, so probably around 6-7ml for its first full week, but I'm not sure

This will probably be my new phone. I own an iPad, MacBook pro and iPod touch so it will be convenient for me to own an iPhone as I'll already have the apps, music, videos and stuff already downloaded.

I don't know how the supply could possibly keep up with that!

Apple astounds me with their success. I'm not a fan personally but what they can do is nothing short of amazing.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

The Windows 8 Nokia has not impressed the market as Nokia shares plummeted after the phone was shown off.

Looking like Apple to carry on taking the profits and Android to get the market share.

People are sheeps....
