Dualshock is the best controller ever. They should retweak it a bit.

If Sony wants to make the best possible controller all they have to do is completely rip off the Xbox 360 controller.

i guess the chances of a redesign aren't that high...

I miss simplistic controllers like this, there's too many buttons nowadays. I wish one of the big 3 would adopt something similar. Do it Sony!

I like the daulshocks dpad, but the Vita one is better. I think the DS4 will have a touchscreen to provide extra function and compatibility for PS Mobile games/apps, streaming capabilities, and Wii U multiplats. I don't know if it will be a 5" screen or not but I expect the controler to be bigger this time around but not handle/feel wise. Imagine a Vita with DS grips and analogs. The Vita is filled with hardware so it makes sense that the buttons and sticks are smaller, but on a streaming controller they should be able to fit full sized ones. It will be like holding a DS3 but with a wider stance, button placement and muscle memory will be the same. I'm looking forward to finding out my Vita will serve as a second controller al beit with less battery life than the DS4 unless entering PS4 controller mode shuts down power consumption somehow.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I like the Dualshock. I like it a lot.

I voted the second option, it just needs tweaking ever so slightly. Concave trigger buttons would be greatly appreciated. I don't have any problems with the D-Pad, but I wouldn't mind a new one either. Sometimes it's a little tricky picking the corner weapons on Starhawk.

It fits into my hands like I don't know what though. The 360 controller is too clunky for me, I don't think my hands are big enough for it.

I actually think the nicest controller I ever held was Gamecube. If it had had a proper second analogue stick (instead of that crappy c nub) then it may have been the best controller I ever used. edit: and a better start button too.

The almighty SEGA Saturn controllers d-pad, and analog placement plus triggers like the xbox 360 controller...... and hey presto!, the dualshock would be pretty much perfect.

As things stand it does not excel in one single area.

aww hell no..please no change in the analog placement...the analog placement in xbox controller is definitely NOT something sony should go for. I hate that design, so awkward

A few tweaks here and there maybe. I personally like having the triggers at the back be convex, they press down so nicely and fit into the controller. I like the D-pad, I've never had any issues doing a dragon punch on the controller, and that was coming off of the Genesis controller (Which D-pad I find better than the Saturn's). The two sticks rest nicely in my hand. Though I wonder if Sony were to redesign the controller to have curved sides, something along the Dreamcast controller if I would like it better. The Dreamcast controller was very comfortable to hold, I even liked the classic controller that Nintendo made, if only they made the top buttons the way Sony made them, going outward instead of having 4 buttons beside each other in a straight line. I think that would be the best controller now that I'm thinking about it; the classic controller with Playstation top buttons/triggers.
