Can't comment on the highest end settings, but I can say that thanks to consoles crappy graphical ability there probably was much more focus on performance for those of us with PC's that are 3-4 years old. Which is why the "You have to upgrade your PC every year" argument makes me laugh.

''Consoles crappy graphical ability''?
That's just trolling..

How so? Due to console's low standards and general poor level ability (IE, lesser then actually my crappy off the shelf 3 year old PC) games are made at a much lower standard graphically.
Which is good, because it means i can run them.
Back when Morrowing came out. There was no way you were running it on a three year old computer and getting framerates that good.
Console graphics are objectivly crappy in power compaired to PCs.

There are like 3 PC games that have much better graphics than games on consoles. The rest all look about the same.
Calling it crappy is trolling and you'd think you know that by now.

3 games? o_O i have no idea what you are smoking , all multiplatform games look better on PC than they do on consoles, again it goes without saying really, and everyone knows that.
see i have these games
Two Worlds 2 on 360 and PC --> PC looks a lot better , console version is missing a lot of textures including water textures, sunglare , vegetation to name a few
Oblivion on PS3 , PC ---> PC looks a lot better , console version has less vegetation, far less field of view, NO detailed Star system and NO detailed sky and moon textures , also has very low water textures... to name a few
L4D2 Xbox / PC --> PC looks better, console version has very low res textures, and when i say very i mean VERY , unstable most of the time.. to be honest L4D2 on xbox is a mess.
Skyrim on PS3/ PC --- > PC looks better, has a lot of effects on sun burns , snow storms and water , snow looks "Cakey" (like Uncharted's snow if you will) and vegetation is a lot more dynamic and has lots more "girth", also the lightning is dynamic, and rugs , stools furnitures...ect are all dynamic.
Crysis 2 on PS3 / PC ---> has better vegetation, dynamic lightning , a lot less screen tearing, far less field of view and so on.
Mass Effect on Xbox and PC ---> Mass Effect 1 is a mess on Xbox ,it goes without saying
bottom line, PC's are always technically advanced than consoles , even if the games are console ports (you know Crysis 2 is a console port right?)
and by the way, i remember you once told me after i recommended to you to get a PSP or DS(i forgot) that you refuse to play on Handhelds because the fact that you can have better graphics on Consoles, and handhelds just sucks graphically, completly ignoring that handhelds offer a different experience than consoles/ PCs , its quite ironic don't you think?
