Ones I disagree or have a comment on--
Halo Series
I can understand saying the series but you make it sound like Halo: CE wasn't a remarkable game. It was, it pretty much changed the way we play FPS games. You could argue that people have gone overboard copying it but that is hardly Bungie's fault (unless you want to fault them for making a game changing game). Other than, the Halo games continue to get respected because they're extremely solid games.
Ocarina of Time
This is another game that changed everything. It was revolutionary in every way when it was released and that's why it's highly rated, not because it could contend with the big hitters today.
God of War series
Same with Halo, except God of War wasn't really a game changer. It was a solid game but it wasn't much special. I have no idea why people rant and rave about these like they do.
Bioshock
Yup, you're the only one.
All in all, it's almost like you're asking for these games to be perfect or amazing forever. A highly rated and respected game doesn't need to be either of those things.

Halo did change the face of FPS games...poorly. before Halo there was no regenerating health, there was no weapon limitations, and they were mostly fun rather than trying to be serious and space-opera-ey. I admit, the game worked REALLY well on the consoles and I'm actually glad it came out because I do enjoy an occasional FPS game, but it changed the genre in what I Feel was a bad way. I am not the only one. Again, it's not a BAD series, but it's an 8/10 game getting 11/10 scores. it's overrated.
Ocarina of Time deserves its own thread, in my opinion, but I'll keep it simple: there's no reason this game didn't age well. I STILL play NES and SNES games because the controls were tight and the 2D looked good, the N64 tended to try so hard to make every game 3D that the controls suffered, the graphics looked blocky and ugly, and they were horribly unrefined. there are almost no N64 or PS1 games I can stand to play due to how clunky and unnatural they felt. Ocarina of Time suffers from this problem, as does Mario 64, Goldeneye, the original Smash Brothers, PErfect Dark, etc. Hell, FFVII/VIII/IX are amongst my alltime favorite games, and I am in no way a graphics whore (I consider visuals to be one of if not THE least important thing in a game), but I can't stand looking at those horribly blocky, ugly atrocities they call character models or playing using that stiff control.
Devil May Cry was better than God of War. God of War was pretty, yes, but that's about it. Characters are boring and not likeable at all, the story was poorly told, the gameplay was repetitive (though I actually DO like that it practically introduced quick time events upon the world), the game was simple and the level design was blech.
I swear I'm the only one who has anything negative to say about Bioshock. I could hardly play that for more than an hour before having to quit. I just couldn't get into it.
