Overrated Games

Gonna add some Strong Contenders to the mix:

1 - Uncharted series

I'm torn about this one. On one hand, it doesn't do ANYTHING new or original, but the quality of the game and the various types of gameplay (Action, shooting, platforming, puzzling, exploration, adventure, etc) are all done so damn well that I think it's mostly deserving of it's praise, even though I think it's just a touch too highly rated.

2 - Gears of War

Torn on this one, too. I felt the graphics were a disappointment, and like uncharted it really didn't do anything new, but it also didnt do anything particularly well, either. the difference? This game was FUN. it wasn't high concept, original, innovative, or even particularly well done, but cutting up enemies with a chainsaw or bringing down a rain of hellfire on your foes is just too damn fun to turn down. overrated, but still fun enough to enjoy.

3 - Minecraft

Holy hell this game is hella boring. I mean, the graphics are practically SNES level, the audio is so depressing, and there's absolutely no point to it at all! no adventures, no quests, no plot, no characters, just a big open land of NOTHING. Most boring game evar! kidding, I love minecraft and think it's one of the most brilliant games ever.
