The first infamous and the first Uncharted. Both were terrible but their sequels were among the best of this gen imo. Sucker Punch made the right decision of changing the art style and atmosphere of infamous and Naughty Dog made the right decision by getting rid of mandatory sixaxis controls, making aiming tighter, varying the locales, and also changing the atmosphere into a more lighthearted experience.

5. Rogue Leader

Dishonourable mentions: Pikmin, RE4 (non-Wii versions), Madworld, All F-zero games, Punchout (Wii), Zack and Wiki, all Soul Calibur games except the first one.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Basically every hyped game is overrated.

Uncharted 2: Good game, but certainly not top tier.

inFamous: It was a pretty average game. Very reptitive.

Farcry 2: Seriously, WTF?

GTA IV: Good game, but not one of the greatest of all time

RDR: Same as GTA IV. Still a phenominal game though

Splinter Cell Conviction: Ughh... What a dissapointment

Various COD games

Crysis 2 & Bulletstorm: Average games

Ocarina of Time is always my first answer, TP slaughters it in every way!
Then I have to call the Metroid Prime series, they are boring and dull.
Then we have the SMG series, the are good, but not SO good.

TP came out EIGHT years after OOT. OOT pioneered the adventure game genre. Your first comment makes no sense.

Metroid Prime was perhaps too cerebral for you. Sorry, it stands as the greatest Gamecube game ever and perhaps the best of its generation.

SMG is... you know what nevermind.

You obviously have something against Nintendo's games.

Me something against Nintendo games? You don't know me at all then.

Ocarina, well, I guess I just don't have the nostalgia factor, I got it in the virtual console and it wasn't as good as I expected.

Prime games were boring, I guess I could say I have something against FPS.

SMG was great, I said I liked it a lot, but it didn't have a long lasting impact.

Well NO GAME from 13 years ago will be what you expect it to be. Go play Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2/3, Silent Hill etc etc.

The Prime games were FP ADVENTURE games. They didn't control like FP SHOOTERS, nor was the emphasis on headshots or sniping or anything. I find it crazy that you would be put off by looking out of a characters eyes - even though this is arguably more immersive than 3rd person. And if you say its boring then its cause you probably couldn't solve the puzzles or got confused by the maps. It was the most immersive and atmospheric game I ever experienced. You were either too young, or not interested in a deep experience.

Yes, SMG is great.

SNES games aged superbly and look and play as smooth as recent games. I just didn't find it so amazing, as I said, it may be the nostalgia factor I don't have.

I didn't like the First Person view, that is my opinion, not because I couldn't solve a puzzle, I do not like First Person games.

Yes, SMG is great. But (IN MY OPINION) it is not the game or platformer of the generation, that was my point

Oh wait. You were 6 years old when Metroid: Prime came out.

I rest my case.

Oh dear.

Yes, I was also not born when Chrono Trigger released, or many SNES games I loved.

You are basing all in your random assumptions and because of my age.

Prime Triogy came in 2009, and that is when I got the 3 games.

I didn't like First Person, I found the worlds empty and boring, and the story quite avergae.

That is my opinion, if you like it or not.

no they were not, you could turn them off.

how could i forget Crysis 2? played it at a friends house and it was not all that, it was pretty but that means nothing when the enemies get stuck in place

Ocarina of Time deserves its own thread, in my opinion, but I'll keep it simple:  there's no reason this game didn't age well.  I STILL play NES and SNES games because the controls were tight and the 2D looked good, the N64 tended to try so hard to make every game 3D that the controls suffered, the graphics looked blocky and ugly, and they were horribly unrefined.  there are almost no N64 or PS1 games I can stand to play due to how clunky and unnatural they felt.  Ocarina of Time suffers from this problem, as does Mario 64, Goldeneye, the original Smash Brothers, PErfect Dark, etc.  Hell, FFVII/VIII/IX are amongst my alltime favorite games, and I am in no way a graphics whore (I consider visuals to be one of if not THE least important thing in a game), but I can't stand looking at those horribly blocky, ugly atrocities they call character models or playing using that stiff control.

I swear I'm the only one who has anything negative to say about Bioshock.  I could hardly play that for more than an hour before having to quit.  I just couldn't get into it.

You just gave yourself the answer why OoT didn't age as well as NES and SNES games. The step to 3D graphics was taken too soon and the technology wasn't really ready at that point in time. As such the fifth generation is comparable to the second one. If you have no nostalgia for second generation games, then there's really no point to give them a chance, unlike third generation games which still can rack up respectable sales in this day and age. Modern 2D titles, NES and SNES games, they can all be a blast to play. Modern 3D titles and fifth generation games is another story. The N64/PS1/Saturn games (the 3D ones) feel just as archaic as Atari 2600 games in most aspects.

Bioshock wasn't all that great. I wish you could go back to previous areas, but the game was pretty linear. Still though, one of the best FPS in years and pretty much the only one I actually had the motivation to play through.

This.

SNES games play and look great, those graphics aged superbly, N64... meh...
