What blows my mind the most is that Tears of the Kingdom is fast approaching four years since launch. I remember counting down the days to that game for months!

On my end I'll be turning 29 in a few months so I'll need to cherish the last stretch of my 20's lol.

Time flies when you're having fun.
After the Wii U I was super sceptical of Switch initially and decided I wouldn't get one until it proved itself not to be another misfire. Thankfully, we all know how that went. It's currently my #2 favourite system of all time.

I guess it's been 30 years and 3 weeks since the day I walked into Toys R Us to pick up my preordered N64 and Mario 64 on launch day.
Now that was a day to remember! I don't think there's ever been as cool a system launch day before or since. A couple friends already had Playstation but those games were nothing compared to Mario 64 and its 3D world and graphics.
I love this trailer. I still go back and watch it sometimes.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.

In terms of marketing, Nintendo came out swinging. The reveal perfectly showed what Switch is and showed Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, and a port of Skyrim.
While it's tough to say due to the Nintendo difference and quirkiness, Switch could be to Nintendo what PlayStation home consoles are to Sony. New hardware over time that is clear to understand that it's replacing the old system and has similar branding and philosophy a lot of the time.
