I gave it a chance, but just couldn't get into it. The gameplay, particularly the combat, just didn't click with me. And I'm the kind of person who doesn't care how good the story, characters, setting, art style, etc., are, if I can't enjoy the gameplay, I can't enjoy the game. And I'm not going to slog through it because "It gets really good 10-20 hours in." It's the same problem I had with Mass Effect. A friend kept telling me how it was a GOAT-tier game. I finally gave it a chance, and I just couldn't enjoy the combat, which I felt was very clunky. I ditched the game after a couple of hours. I also didn't like Starfield's combat and opaque inventory system, or Far Cry 2 constantly forcing you to pick up new guns and search for malaria medication. Those are just examples I could think of off the top of my head. If a game's mechanics don't grab me in short order, I'm not going to bother sinking tens of hours into it.
