Somebody needs to make a PS video game music video using these songs and bombard the SNY social accounts with them.

Even better if the song or artist is tied to SNY records music.

Maybe replace the colored circles in the video with PS1 - PS5 discs:

I agree Sony is going to lose a large player base in supporting only digital unless they give you full rights of selling the license for the game that you purchased & never deleting or shutting down the ability to download it again in the future . OK fine Go digital bit give us the option of selling the ownership of said digital copy as a second hand product so I can sell that license to another game store or directly trade it with a friend for another game ... I'm going to come back later & expand why Sony is going to lose on they're choice of Going against what they've always stood for in the gaming industry & also give a full breakdown on what it means for future Retro Preservation.

Great idea. PS discs, PS symbols, and PS colors.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Another one for the collection

I finally got an Evercade!! ^^ Should be here today. Then will just need the cartridges I ordered to arrive from England.

If physical media disappears, there’s nothing stopping publishers from leasing the license to play a game. Imagine spending $80 dollars a year to keep a game in your library.

It won’t start that bad. At first, the option to lease a game will seem like a good deal. $10-$20 for a new game? Doesn’t seem so bad. You can still choose to buy the full game, after all. But several years later, terms of service changes. Prices go up. Permanent ownership is replaced with a longer lease. Prices go up. The length of the longer lease shortens.

And an AI uses all the metadata that was gathered about purchases and time spent playing to optimize pricing for maximum profit. It will seem normal by this point. Like macrrotransactions (not a typo) and roadmaps.

I see how things are, I know how things were. A disc-free console is just like horse armor DLC, testing the waters to see how much people will tolerate. It won’t stop there. It will just be the beginning.

They'll have to solve DRM & console piracy to do this, which even with Denuvo & decent closed platform security they haven't. At best they've only had DRM for a few months before a crack is achieved, and Denuvo is extremely expensive to publishers which is why they opt out of it after that initial period, usually.

The only way I can see a leasing model succeeding is if everything goes to game-streaming and local gaming is no longer a thing.

AI goes both ways too. It can be used to find exploits just as easily, if not more easily, than it can be used to patch them.

It will no doubt be used for more harm than good, just like now.

Publishers who don't let you play a game for a one time payment are fucking idiots.

Rockstar boss is literally already talking about streaming being the future short term (in 3 years) so they can get up to 10x the players they have currently (and the have the most successful game of all time).

Streaming will soon replace digital downloads and a lot of the people who defend physical media dying for no reason whatsoever will get mad and be told by the streaming shills that the times changed and they have to accept it and stop crying.

That'll be happening before 2035 if killing physical media is allowed like people are letting it to be.
