I guess something I didn’t take into account is that 12 months to me might feel a bit longer for me than for others… I’ve come to learn most on this site are much older than I. So while 12 months would be a wait worth the $40USD extra to avoid for me with a 3D Zelda or Mario, for others, it’ll probably just pass like its nothing. Especially when they aren’t as new to the medium as I— I only started with video games in 2017 with BotW, lost interest around 2020, and came back for TotK in 2023.

Pretty much only LoD (prequel, sequel, remake).
I wouldn't be happy about it, at all, but yeah, I would end up getting it anyway.

There are a few franchises I would pay 100 bucks for a game(and I have with CEs. Also MKW even though I traded in some games to get it, it was about 100$ to begin with)

Depends. Cyberpunk 2 could be £100 and I wouldn’t immediately avoid it coz I’d just use a code reseller to get it for probably 25-40% off.

A new 3D Zelda, maybe.

I don't really know. I imagine that there are quite a good amount of games I would willingly spend 100$ or even 150$.

A Diablo game that engages me where grinding is not even possible to do, with complete random generation of the world.
StarCraft 3 probably as well. Even if i have zero confidence in Blizzard these days.
Resident Evil 4, 2. The same type of game system, new story, new places, new weapons, a little more open where the corridor of gameplay is less noticable. Will probably drop around that sum when the DLC comes for RE requiem since I will buy that.
A new Ace Attorney could also get me to chough up massive dime.

But this is mostly reserved for crowdfunding games that are either sequels to IPs that didn't have new entries in ages, new IPs from people who made games in the past that I loved, or something really fresh that I'm excited about.

Feels like games might start launching at $100, lots of people seem willing to take it.

I'm about to do it for the first time with Forza Horizon 6 since the premium edition that'll give you future DLC maps for free costs over £100. It's gonna be a little painful but I should get over 200 hours out of the game. Should be a long time before I pay that much for a game again.
