Considering I paid £75 for the physical version of Mario Kart World, and that's currently worth $101. I guess I already did. Ofc that includes tax but uh....
In hindsight was not worth it.

None. I rarely buy retail games at full price as it is (much less now with the increases), and never buy digital games for more than 10€.
A 100$ pricetag is just begging for piracy.

Nah if you don’t pay for the game, you aren’t owed the game (so long as the profits from the game may still find their way into the hands of the devs). It wreaks of entitlement to suggest that you are justified in consuming luxury content without providing the dev team what they are due.

It's not a matter of entitlement or not. Piracy will happen, whether the industry likes it or not. If people can afford the games, there will be less piracy. If people can't, there will be more. Steam singlehandedly reducing PC piracy over the years proves this.

The OP is about what you’d be willing to spend on a game. You respond “$100 is just begging for piracy,” insinuating that you would just pirate at such a price tag. Why are we talking about general consumers purchasing/pirating habits now? Ofc I agree a higher price may promote further piracy… but that’s kinda irrelevant.

This.
I would pay $70 for the extremely rare game... like new 3D Zelda and new 3D Mario, that's about it.
There are zero games I'd pay >$70, so $100 would be insane.
