Trophies, in my experiences, don’t tend to be very fun. Almost always end up acting as a to-do/chore list.

It depends on what the trophy lists goal is, I agree misc trophies that have you doing random shit for the sake of it are pretty boring but trophies that are checklists yet they are designed to get you to engage with a system in the game you might avoid are exceptional. I'm playing Like a Dragon Gaiden right now and if it wasn't for the platinum I'd have been done at 10 hours max but the platinum brought me to engage with this whole 16+ hours long, deep side system that weaves into different systems and in and out of the main quest line and the trophies make sure you engage with it in a way that doesn't devolve into some meta gameplay but to actually just play it as if you were playing the campaign and it was so much fun ranking up with side quests, then becoming a Fighter and grinding out a career in a cage fight arena while gathering a team of Fighters for group fights that are spread out through the game in all sorts of different side activities and a challenge too to overcome they didn't make it easy. I'd have written off that cause it was clearly a massive grind from the view at the start and I was overwhelmed but I persisted cause of the goal being there and I am so glad I did it cause it was the best part of the game. Same with Astrobot, best part of that game is finding all bots and doing all secret levels and returning to levels a second or third time knowing the mechanics and speed runinng them. Trophies can enhance games greatly, this year alone I have had five games that were greatly enhanced by going for the platinum, even made better than just doing the base game alone and extending the games hooks for longer or got me playing the game in a certain way with the platinum in mind, like with Robocop and saying yes to the side stuff instead of B lining things and taking it easy through the levels and enjoying myself.
Robocop Rogue city
Alan Wake 2
Astrobot.
Black Myth Wukong.
Like A Dragon Gaiden.
Then there are platinums thst I followed that done every little and were boring, didn't enhance anything and I just grabbed them cause they were in very close reach after the base game like...
NoBody Wants to die
NERD survivors
So it totally depends on the game and how they trophies are implemented and the intent behind what the devs intend you to do. Some people love game Platinums like FF Rebirth that have you play the game twice, 100% everything in hard and they take longer than the base game and some people love to buy platinums that pop in 1 secone once you boot the game, so I suppose it also depends on the person but for core gamers, if you assess the platinum before hand and see if it's what you want it's worth doing and if it turns out they have you doing silly shit like shooting an enemy after jumping while the sun is about to set on a Tuesday morning before breakfast without touching the controller then you can always give up.
