You ever just look at a thread title and go…yeah, I don’t know what I was going for there?

And in regards to the thread query: nope.

Someone above agreed they want one on Nintendo, I don't see the issue. However, I've changed the title to should, need is not the word I was looking for, yet I do want to imply that they would benefit from it in the question, cause they clearly would. Trophies move games on PS, that's a fact, Nintendo is in the business of selling games so an ecosystem where all the junk indie games actually sell with a system like trophies, even if it is for reasons you don't agree with is a good thing for them and the devs. Sony can't regulate trophies on PS now, if they did they would be working against themselves by getting rid of whales buying insta plats and ruining devs wholes business models. It's shit but we can ignore it and engage with the system casually, pick and choose and let the people who get obsessed to that degree run wild, they are enjoying it seemingly so why not.

“Trophies move games” sounds so icky to me. Good games move games. I think a more immersive metaprogression would be fine. I always liked the idea in Metroid Prime 3 where the game you played showed up as stickers on Samus’s ship.

I would rather have a dedicated app that shows an environment and that environment changes based on the games you play. Played Mario Wonder? You can now go interact with a wonder flower in a virtual world. Played Xenoblade X? Here’s a Skell to walk around in.
