Took care of my daughters sudden 103 degree fever

Oh shiiiit. Is she okay?

Edit: Honestly. Status update please. Soon.

Taking her to the pediatrician first thing tomorrow, but thankfully children’s motrin helped stabilize her temperature. Just finished putting her down for the night and temp was starting to go up again. So gave her some children’s Tylenol which is overall more effective to help her sleep. I appreciate your concern though! I got her a train set and was looking to putting it together with her, but that’ll have to wait for now.

Yesterday I went for a 22 km run, weather was nice. Then family Christmas dinner at my wife's parents. Afterwards we beat Act 1 in Path of Exile 2.
Today watching the kids unwrap presents, and when they were on their games in the afternoon we continued with Path of Exile 2 until just now.

You're a lucky man, Sven. To have a partner like that. Count your blessings. 👊

Damn, I haven't ran thatch since before covid. I wish Covid never happened cause it fucked so much up, I don't even feel like cycling the long anymore even though, I'd go 60km relaxed. I can't get back on the groove.

We found each other in Everquest, so our relationship was based on gaming together :)

I used to cycle, switched to running this year. I was doing 40 to 120km routes, 60km 2.5 hour relaxed ride was the sweet spot. However I was running in the winter anyway (too cold for cycling) and cycling became too much strain on my wrists and knees. My arms/wrists cramped up after getting off the bicycle and I would wake up with leg cramps all night. I was surprised running is better on my knees than cycling.

Actually during Covid I cycled more, that's when my knees and wrists got too much abuse I guess. I also got hit by a car while cycling during Covid, scared my wife half to death. That also took the wind out of my sails so to speak. The 'final nail' was last spring when a dog charged me on a gravel bike trail. I wiped out hard, the scars still look pretty fresh 9 months later. I figured shorter routes, higher speed, but that also means a lot more road rash when things go wrong. Plus it keeps getting more busy around here with our PM doubling the local population :/ Not relaxing anymore with all the extra traffic.

And since running regularly I've been extending my range through out the year. After the initial warming up period I get in this flow state where I can keep on running. Feels very relaxing, steady cadence. It's also the time when I work out stuff that's going on in my head, leave angry, stressed / frustrated, come back feeling much better.

Oh and we watched Home Alone during unpacking presents this morning, has to be on in the background lol.

Family, wukong,  bunch of expensive fidget toys from the US arrived on christmas day, great timing.  and blades to be a kid all over again

I'm enjoying a little less work than usual, so I actually had some time t play a little Mario Odyssey yesterday. I also enjoyed handing over gifts to my wife, who got a new laptop from me, and my son, who got the small drone he so desperately wanted for months. It's cool all in all, but anywho, gotta get back to work!

Don't worry though, I acutally enjoy my job.

I'm enjoying the free time, I haven't had this many holidays/vacation for ~10 years, it is the downside of having a smol business.

Studying to do an exam and be hired as a public school teacher

Hope you aren't settled on becoming one of those woke preachy teachers....

That's certainly not how you should fish more meaningful interaction ...

Anywoo, my Christmas official dinner isn't before tomorrow. So we had a bit of a lul in between. A good smaller scale family dinner, playing cards, lots of laughs n all.

Gonna play some games today to profit from my holiday break !

lol I was expecting to receive comments like "Good luck dealing with nowadays kids" or "Aren't you worried about mass shooting?", not this one. I guess it shows how people have different concerns when it comes to the education topic

Don't celebrate Christmas but was with family
