This year was an interesting year with wrapped. This year has been a unique year for Most Wanted. If you count both platform and platformless charts, we have had 13 games that hit number one. The first couple of months belonged to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In March, there was a tie for 1st place (Stellar Blade and Dragon's Dogma 2). April was interesting because we saw 3 titles at the top (Stellar Blade and Paper Mario on solo platforms and Hollow Knight where all platforms are combined). June saw Elden Ring making a triumphant comeback with the Shadow of Erdtree taking the crown, you can see why it's still getting Game of the Year nominations. In July, we saw the VGA Game of the Year Astro Bot taking the throne for a month. In August we saw the resurrection of Metroid Prime 4 with a new name. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom may not have taken home any awards but it kept Astro Bot at bay during its last month of eligibility. October saw a battle coming from the future where Grand Theft Auto and Metroid Prime fought for the spot. November was a fight between Mario & Luigi and Doom. And the final month of the year led to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle hitting the top spot!

Stellar Blade by far. I really wish I could say Metaphor, I really wanted to love that game. After half a dozen hours with Astrobot I can't see what people are talking about, Astro Rescure mission was so much better on PSVR. I'm playing Rebirth right now which is second and it's absolutely great, haven't been able to play the last two days and it's all I can think about but Stellar Blade.... my god, it's so good it's fighting Neir Automata in my top games, for totally different reasons of course, I've fell in love with that game so much, I'm still going back to play after platinuming it and completing it three times as well as doing all the boss Rushes apart from the last three on hard mode which I intend to master. It's a breath of fresh air in gaming where everything is about taking control away from you and being all narratively deep and shit, it's this gameplay experience like you'd get in the ps3 generation but even more so like all the best pieces of character action games from the 3d era, cobbled together, even that tame narrative and flat characters add to the feel of it being this masterpiece of a all the best bits. It's sucks that it's being championed by the people who have hijacked it as a symbol of some kind anti woke shit but I have to agree with them, it doesn't hurt that the MC is incredibly hot, usually I'd have disbelief seeing a woman with this frame fighting this way but not once did I, they made it more believable than any female I've ever seen in gaming EVEN when she's in a tight dress or half naked or some shit. Phenomenal game and rising the ranks of my all time favourites
.

It feels very wrong to say this…but Paper Mario TTYD Remake, and by a wide margin. (Not an original title, but an extremely faithful remake.) If restricted to original 2024 releases, then I’d lean toward Zelda EoW.

The only problem I have with Astro — my personal runner up — is that it feels like a less fun version of Mario. I love the game, but tbh I would choose almost any Mario game over it. Zelda EoW is very unique, and unlike any game I’ve played prior. Its echo system grants a tremendous amount of liberty to the player, and makes for a very personalized experience. For any given puzzle, you can either choose the quick-and-clear solution and move along, or you can have a bit of fun by restricting yourself to a random echo (and it almost always works out). Creativity is key in this game! Combine this with its charming world, thoughtful story, solid scriptwriting, and incredible orchestral OST, the option is clear…even if i felt the game’s puzzles and dungeons were stupidly easy.

Out of the games listed, Astro Bot. Been playing the game practically nonstop with my daughter! To the point she's finishing levels by herself. Not bad for a 3 year old I haven't been able to play Indiana Jones yet, but from what I've been hearing, it could definitely make a strong case!

Currently my GOTY is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I only played M&L Brothership on OP's list, but if I had another choice, this would be taken by Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven.

Pure goodness this remake is exactly how you re-tool and modernize a somewhat revolutionary RPG that just deserve to be more well known in the west. It has mechanics that are weirdly akin to western RPG sensibilities with a free-flowing exploration and main quest. It's gameplay and flow got me scotched like I haven't been on a game since last year.

Damn how'd I miss this originally. That's a cool round-up - thanks axum!

I'm very late and didn't know this was a thing but here we are. Fun to see two games make the top 50 basicly just due to my constant voting for them (Deltarune Chapter 3 and Witcher Polaris).

I think Persona 3 Reload was slept on a little, but at least it made it as high as 18. I know it's a remake, but it's one of the best of 2024.
That is all.
My fave and most wanted was Paper Mario TTYD.
