PS2 : more than 155.1 million (as of march 31, 2012).
PS2 ending production (as of January 4th, 2013).
PS2+PS3 sales during FY2012 (1st april 2012 - march 31, 2013) : 16.5 million.
Sony has mentioned a significant decrease in unit sales of PS3 for this year but nothing for the PS2.
Now Sony confirm they sold more than 160 million LTD (which makes sense).

So how PS2 sales units during her last year (FY2012) ?

The most intelligent will easily find the answer :3

Meant to quote you as well but the blurb says PS3, PS Vita, and PSP were the significant cause for the fiscal year decrease but that doesn't necessarily mean PS2 didn't also decline because obviously a 12 year old console (PS2) is unlikely to be a significant cause for decline.

Sure buddy, you certainly don't have any alternative motives ;) but regardless vgchartz will adjust their figures to whatever Nintendo says just like they just did for Sony. So i need to adjust my prediction because you aren't very clear on what figures you are using. Vgchartz uses Nintendo, Sony, and the many other trackers to adjust their figures but you seem to only ever want to talk about vgchartz sellthrough for obvious reasons but I digress.

I have to ask, if Nintendo ships 160 million Switch but vgchartz stops tracking Switch before it sells through the shipments, are you going to say it failed to hit 160 million?

Yes, I don't have alternative motives, since you can't change a number. Either way in the end the number will be the same, but for the time being, it's more accurate to use sold to date by a monthly basis numbers instead of 3 months shipped ones. You don't need to adjust anything. @Pinkie_pie wasn't sure where Switch stands and I simply answered him. And I prefer to use more up to date numbers by monthly basis, which are sold, instead of shipped by 3 months.

VGchartz won't stop track Switch before it sells the shipments. But in the end of course that Nintendo's saying have the biggest weight, since they know more than anyone how much exactly they have shipped. But again, for the time being, I prefer using numbers sold, and I prefer to talk about the latest up to date figures, not the once updated per every 3 months. This is one of the extra options sites such as VGChartz gives you. And I on the opinion that every manufacturer should give this information for every of their consoles too. But they don't.

Well the reason why I have to adjust is because I'm predicting 160 shipped by June 2026, so if we use vgchartz I have to adjust to probably September 2026.

I really think its time you should enlighten these guys about the real facts.

There has been a massive missundertanding regarding PS2's total shipments over the years. Me and Xtreme had a conversation regarding this topic. Something is really fishy here. And to be honest I am really quite tired explaining this all over and over again with people contradicting without thinking. The official number as of march 2012 had been changed serval times.

Would you mind explaining?

I am not sure what you are talking about and if it's addressed to me or @Phenomajp13

All right, so that is over 160.000.000 units sold, and up to 636.885 units extra produced for demo/replacement purposes.

I just went ahead and asked him directly, on twitter, so if he decides to answer, we may get the exact total final number of shipped/sold units.

Shawn Layden could be lying too. Him and Jim Ryan both aren't with Playstation anymore for some reason have to lie about PS2's number

I won't believe anything anymore. PS3 number is obviously fake because the system was not discontinued in october 2016, it was discontinued May 30,2017. It was on the market over 10 years. Its final total is 87,4 million. PSP i absolutley don't buy because its exactly 1 million over the GBA. Nobody will believe that number only for a second. Also Produced=/= Shipped. The PS2 picture is obviously fake, otherwise we could kiss 161/ 162 million dreams goodbye. We know the PS2 numbers changed 2 times for the same date. And if there where "only" 160,636,885 million PS2s produced, we can at least subtract a bunch of million for the official shipment number: Demo stations in store where never sold but shipped back to Sony at the end of the systems lifetime because those units where not for sale. The same goes for te PSP. PSP's shipments are below GBA and PS2's shipments are below 160 million! No way in hell there where only 636.000 units shipped to stores as demostations, developing systems... add in the fact the same happened for the PS2 slim+ many bigger stores had 2 or more of them, 160 million is absolutley impossible for the final shippment number. No matter what Sony says.
