Best PS4 Game/Series

Bloodbourne 141 20.38%

The Ghost of Tsushima 34 4.91%

God of War/Ragnarok 85 12.28%

Horizon: Zero Dawn 31 4.48%

The Last of Us Part II 83 11.99%

Marvel's Spider-Man 27 3.90%

Nier Automata 47 6.79%

Persona 5 Royal 65 9.39%

Uncharted 4 68 9.83%

The Witcher 3 111 16.04%

Total:692

The Last of Us Part II is my favorite video game of all time, so obviously that's my top pick. (Sorry haters!) A more complete list of my top faves originally released on the PS4, and sticking with AAA selections here (as is, I think, the spirit of this thread), looks like this:

1. The Last of Us Part II
2. NieR: Automata
3. Death Stranding
4. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
5. The Last Guardian
6. God of War
7. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
8. Persona 5

When it comes to first-party releases, the Sony brand is usually my favorite just in general. Their games have the feels. Usually anyway. A variation on this list expanded to include indie titles not falling into the AAA category though would definitely see What Remains of Edith Finch take the second spot and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night would rank in well too since the PS4 version was definitely the best one at the time of launch.

Around the Network

1. God Of War

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

3. Bloodborne

4. Uncharted 4

5. Dragon Quest 11

6. Marvel's Spiderman

7. Horizon Zero Dawn

I didn't enjoy this gen as much as previous ones. it felt like there was less variety among Sony first party than previous generations. But still good overall.

Either God of War or The Last of Us Part II.
As Ragnarok made the predecesor feel a bit dated, I'll pick The Last of Us Part II.
Ragnarok is also a PS4 game but I played it on PS5 so this is where I count it.

Not including The Last Guardian, seriously?

Question: As somebody who has only briefly played Dark Souls (gave up b/c too hard), would Bloodborne be a good game to try? Even w/out having played any souls games?

Stardew Valley is the GOAT and my favorite game.

Not sure if I posted already but The Witcher 3 is the best game on PS4. It's the best game on Switch, Xbox one, Xbox series and It's the best game on PC. It's an even better game on the PS5 with the duel sense and and fantastic tophiy list and Platinum to sink into.

I have been creating these threads based off of the amount of People listing the games in the thread. So the games they get mentioned the most in here are which ones I put in the poll.

Dark Souls is easy compared to Bloodborne, if that was a problem for you there, it will be a bigger problem with Bloodborne.

Dark Souls isn't actually too hard, being your first souls game makes it harder, but just until you get used to it.

Bloodborne on the other hand is actually hard, it rewards you taking risks (for example once you get hit you can quickly recover some of the lost HP by hitting the enemy back, but you'll end up taking more damage by rushing it until you learn to play a bit better), the game basically doesn't have shields so you'll have to learn to either:

1. Be very patient with your attacks and make good use of the trick weapons mechanic;

2. Know the timing to hit back enemies to keep recovering your lost HP;

3. Learn to dodge roll somewhat properly:

4. or time your gun parries well, to keep progressing

From the Souls games I played (Demon's, Dark, Dark 2, a bit of Dark 3, Nioh and Bloodborne) Bloodborne was definitely the hardest.

If you want to get into the series Dark Souls is a good game to do it, maybe Demon's Souls remake is too, never played it, and the original is harder than the Dark trilogy, but the remake looks way easier than the original.

Its really hard to say.

Love Uncharted 4, Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal, Last of Us 2 so much. Demon Souls Remake, Bloodborne, Spidey and God of War Ragnarok are impressive too.
And the new Astro Bot. And Yakuza Zero ect :D
