Voted for decent, but I think the right option is good. Elden Ring and God of War seems to be great games, but I didn't play them yet.

Good year and I haven't even started Elden Ring yet. My favorite was Horizon FW, excellent sequel, surpassed my expectations.
My Series X purchase was a bit premature but I do like the Halo Infinite controller, got nice grips on it. The games will come eventually :/
I didn't touch the Switch this year, waiting for BotW2.
On the PC side I mostly played Factory Simulator on Roblox, addictive game if you like to puzzle.

Has been an amazing year! So many Great events in Clash of Empire. Have truly enjoyed it, and only put like 200 dollars into the game this year!

Had a couple good new Wii U downloads and releases as well. Not bad for an old system. Hopefully I get a few more, even though I have heard it is done already. Maybe a 2023 miracle is in store for me!

3DS: 172 hours
Gamecube: 88 hours
Steam/PC: 88 hours
Nintendo Switch: 50 hours
Playstation 3: 23 hours
Playstation 4: 20 hours
Playstation: 4 hours

Grand Total of Hours: 445 hours

I can never go by new releases because I typically wait months to years before getting too many games. But I would say it was a fantastic year overall in general, I discovered the Xenoblade games and played all three of them this year (now one of my favorite series). I just got around to God of War 2018 which I thought was a phenomenal game. I also thoroughly enjoyed FFVII Remake, and I can't wait for Rebirth. SMT V was fantastic (Soul Hackers 2 was a huge letdown). Currently enjoying Persona 5 Royal on PC GamePass and Overwatch 2 despite its many failings has overall been an extremely fun game, I've already put hundreds of hours into it with friends (in which I had 3k+ hours in the original game).

Decent-to-good. Better than most years nowadays.

Disappointing. Only bought 4 games, Total War Warhammer 3, Mario Strikers, Football Manager and FIFA this year. 2 I buy most years, Total War had a pretty mediocre launch and I didn't really get into Mario Strikers (I've probably spent 20x as much time this year on MK8 than I have Strikers). I did buy Lego Star Wars too but quickly refunded it. I wish it had just been a remastered collection of the old games with new levels for the sequel movies. Not really a fan of the remake style.

Nothing else enticed me enough to actually buy it yet.

If we're talking about software: absolutely horrible. There were a few games that I looked forward to, but they all disappointed me. It's probably just me, but I just got real bored with the games that came out this year. I didn't even finish Stray although I really looked forward to that game. Same thing with Shredder's Revenge.

When it comes to hardware, 2022 knocked everything out of the park with the Steam Deck. I fell in love with that thing and it just gets better everyday. Granted, I use it mainly to play old games as I just can't get warm with the newer releases. But I don't care. I'm having a blast with the Steam Deck!

It is definitely good. Games like Grounded, Pentiment, Vampire Survivors, Dwarf Fortress are great. A lot of games I hadn't yet time to play like Live a Live, Xenoblade 3, Triangle Strategy and Return to Monkey Island I look really forward to. And naturally we have Elden Ring, which even if standing alone would make this year a good one.

It's only really a bad year for Xbox fans lol. Overall it's been a great year for gaming.

It tells a lot of how bad a year it must have been for you, if you try to sweeten it up for you by talking down the experience of others. And that you have no idea about the Xbox experience is shown, as you ignore Grounded and Pentiment, games showing the breadth of experience in gaming on Xbox breaking out from the same old, same old "cinematic experience" some parts of gaming have gone into. Multiplats like Elden Ring, Vampire Survivors or High on Life are also great. And yes, for Xbox only fans this year brought Deathloop and Persona 5, which are also great. So you clearly have no idea about Xbox fans.

I hope your next gaming year will be better and bring you experiences that can you let focus on your own great experiences, instead of trying to get highs only by talking down the experiences of others. Or, you know, you could also get an Xbox, to broaden you horizon.
