#43

(-26)

It saddens me to say this is the biggest drop in the entire list. This is still a great game but damn Nintendo rly abandoned it. For as much as I love Mario Party, in the modern day it rly needs map, character, mechanic updates and such to stay relevant which this game unfortunately has just not got any. And without anything new, the game's biggest flaws become more apparent like the broken economy in game. Like I said, still really good, but it's unfortunately fell behind many other for the series to me, and unless we get a big overhaul update, it likely won't last to next year.

Another hint for #44 and first hint for #41:

#46: Guessed by S.Peelman: The Battle for Wesnoth

#45: Guessed by drbunnig: Doom 64

#44: Guessed by coolbeans: Crusader Kings III
(it is not: Yes, Your Grace)
The genre I could describe as monarchy simulator.
If your monarch dies you hopefully have an heir to take over.
If you go to war you need a good reason, as casus belli, as we are not savages. Luckily it is easy to create one.

#42: Guessed by Machina: Valkyria Chronicles 4

#41: (it is not: Tomb Raider)
Find the other survivors from this shipwreck.

As a fan of turn-based strategy and tactics games The Battle for Wesnoth is a game right up my alley. You play missions on a hex based map, where you position your troops and fight the enemy not unlike Fire Emblem. In difference to FE (besides the hexfield) you hire most of your troops instead of getting them through story (although you get these too). A major difference too is managing your gold as a resource to hire troops and recall to them battle in the next scenarios. Troops also need upkeep, so you have to balance the number of units with the number of villages you captured.

The game has many things to consider, like the terrain which hinders movement and gives boni and mali depending on troop type or the day-night-cycle, which also can give some units advantages. For instance dwarf units get boni in mountains, while merfolk is better in water. The story is progressed by overlayed text-boxes.

The setting is a medieval magical fantasy world. Many of the factions you can play are typical: humans with knights, mages or sometimes thieves, dwarfes, elves, orcs and so on. Merfolk on the other hand was something I don't see happen that often. Or undeads.

The game has currently 17 main campaigns. I say currently, because the game is constantly developed on. That is not all. The game has a thriving community, that develops tons of user-generated campaigns, maps or add-ons. Each campaign has it's own story, although they may be connected as all happens in the same setting. If playing the single-player campaigns aren't enough for you, you can play online matches.

This is an open-source game, meaning it can be downloaded and played for free and also that it is developed by multiple people over time, as everyone can join in. It includes a lot of tools to create your own map scenarios and campaigns, so there is a lot of user-created stuff downloadable.

You can join in on the free download from website or via Steam.

Adding some extra hints:

45) Didn't win a ton of GOTY awards, but it certainly dominated one "award show"
Hint 2: There seems to be disproportionately many fans of this game on VgChartz.

43) You can use certain weapons to get slightly more "air distance", allowing you to reach places you couldn't otherwise (probaby quite obscure, but true)
Hint 2: The fastest way to get around in this game is to "moonwalk"

42) A licensed game based on a character with many faces
Hint 2: He now shares one of these faces with a PlayStation character

41) You are your own worst enemy... Until you aren't
The previous game by this developer was originally an Ouya exclusive.

Maybe, Ocarina of Time?

Though both these things would be glitching in that case.

Yesterday Veknoid guessed my #43, Blast Corps, and now he's far ahead with no less than five correct guesses. Time for another hint for #41, and I'll add two more games.

43 - This game features a couple minor vehicles, which you'll use in a supporting role next to the primary vehicles, which are sometimes based off cars and vans from real-life TV shows.
Hint 2: They look like how they look in the shows too, like the orange car from "The Dukes of Hazard" and the black van with a red stripe from "The A-Team".
Hint 3: There's more of those secondary vehicles, which you'll have to use to get yourself from place to place, from construction vehicle to construction vehicle, too though, like trains and cranes.
Hint 4: Those construction vehicles (you know, a bulldozer, a dump truck) however are actually used for destruction instead. Guessed by Veknoid_Outcast - Blast Corps

41 - There's an easter-egg in a sound clip in this game, where a traffic report comes from something from another, related (but different), game. It usually reports heavy traffic.
Hint 2: The name of it even uses the same three letter prefix as everything else in this series.
Hint 3: You can also fly this helicopter in it's own game, through your creations from this game if you import them.

40 - In a live-action cutscene, your instructor in one level, as you fly one of the enemy's craft, casually refers to your enemies as "Bucketheads".

39 - Contrary to it's more open structured predecessors, this handheld game featured a bit more linear, mission-based progression. Guessed by Veknoid_Outcast - Metroid Fusion

No, but it's game from that era
