Forums - Sales - The Road to 160m+ for Nintendo Switch (EDIT: See mod note in first post for new rule).

This past quarter exceeding expectations did raise my forecast just slightly, I was thinking moreso around 158M, but now its looking like 159M.

Obviously not a huge change but in the grand scheme of things where ever few thousands count at this point this late in the game trying to beat a record that's very close, it is a pretty big difference. I still think it's unlikely to reach 160M, but you never know and this quarter did exceed expectations

So Switch 1 selling 0.66 this quarter actually quite a bit better than expected. Maybe not all hope is lost. But at the same time losing Europe in 2027 still gonna be a big hurdle to climb over

Any breakdown by region, perhaps?

It would be interesting how RoW is doing, as they should be the ones carrying the Switch over the finish line.

ROW 150k

EUROPE 110K

AMERICAS 200K

JAPAN  210K

So row soon could turn out to be it's new stronghold, above europe by 40k  and  below than americas by 50k, which include the vast market of the usa, row doesn't include any major market (and also not latin america obviously).

Japan price hike pretty much terminated the importing phenomenon also ,  hence row shipments could increase somewhat...

Curious to see if Nintendo will overstaff the european market with NS1 units due to the imminent discontiunation because of the eu legislation about detachable batteries.

If you think about it, that might give it one last boost, since people will know it’s being discontinued, plus Nintendo could ship another few hundred thousand or maybe even a million units to retailers to keep them stocked throughout the year.

Retailers wont be able to sell it either.

I think its eu regulations that says it may not be sold anymore if the battery cant be replaced.

From what i read nintendo will withdraw the consoles from eu stores?!

Also the price hike in japan made the switch1 sales collapse to and will prob get worse the more popular switch2 becomes

Not true, retailers can sell them for as long as they have stock.
