Sony themselves invited me to buy the console at the end of July. So I did. I got a PS5. I've actually been trying to find a XSX, but I swear it's more elusive than the PS5. I mean I can't find that console ANYWHERE. Oddly enough, I had so many chances to buy the Series S. I don't want that one though. I want the more powerful Series X. I'll keep waiting patiently as I'm loving the PS5 at the moment.

This makes me laugh because I've been getting regular emails from Microsoft offering me to go to their website and buy a series X, but I don't have it in the budget for another console at this time. so I asked around to all my buddies to see if anyone else wanted one (many of my friends like Xbox and PS), and everyone I talked to about it was like 'naw, no interest. thanks though'.

as for me, got Ps5 at launch and genuinely love it more than any other console aside from the Switch. The controller is the best controller ever, the quality of life improvements are nice, the PS4 game upscaling is quite impressive and incentivises me to go back and play old PS4 games I never got around to, and the PS5 games have been really impressive so far. I LOVE Ratchet & Clank and Demon's Souls and both are so great they're already on my top 25 list of personal faves, and while I never finished Returnal I thought that game was really good, too. Plus, this console transition is likely the smoothest ever, given the free upgrades we're getting on so many games. sucks that Sony is walking back a bit on them going forward but it still made year 1 amazing for me (I have something like 20 PS5 games already, not including Kena and Horizon, which I've pre-ordered).

So yeah, worth it. Easily. No ragrets. between Switch and PS5, I can play basically any and everything I need to.

No, and Sony is slowly making loosing my interest in it. I'm not going to chase over it. I'm the customer, I should not have to go out of my way to give a company my money. It should be the other way around.

Hence, I've selected the option of No, and I'm not interested in one, but I was at one point.

I wouldn't blame Sony for it, they have done practically everything in their power to amp up production. They want to sell their hardware as badly as customers want to get it. The whole tech industry is hurting for certain parts and then there's the scalpers to contend with.

This the problem with the world now. People sympathize with corporations more than their wallet. I will blame Sony and will continue to blame them. I was able to buy a $1300 LG OLED TV quite easily this year. (It also uses processor chip) Companies that want to sell their products go out of their way to make it available to the consumer.

They do not pull some lottery BS and invite you to have the opportunity to give them your money. They are basically training the consumer to accept higher prices do to "scarcity." If they wanted to really sell their PS5 to every gamer that wanted one, they could have set up an online pre-order on their website limited to one per house hold. They could have done this a couple months after they noticed the scalpers raiding their supply chain.

They don't care about you dude, its a corporation. They care about making money.

No, not yet. Going to get a PS5 eventually, but I'm in no rush at the moment. Maybe once Horizon/FFXVI are out I'll start looking for one.

Not interested in any of them at the moment, but maybe I'll get the PS5 in the future when there's a slim model and if FF16 and the other parts of FF7R end up being great (and hopefully KH4 comes out this generation).

I have a PS5 that I got in July. I was lucky enough to ask at my local store about a PS5 in June and was told that there was a shipment coming the following month and preorders were open. The following month my PS5 was in hand.

Ithink this just highlights how getting your console at the moment can be a matter of luck. I started looking for a PS5 in Feb/March and couldn't find a trace online but it was as easy as walking into the right store at the right time.

Regarding use, I do primarily game on my PS5 now over my PS4. However it is mostly PS4 games as I have a huge backlog and am waiting for PS5 games to drop in price.

I'm not sympathizing with anyone, I'm just stating facts. Scarcity is not done by Sony, but the global lack of components and the scalpers taking everything they possibly can by abusing the online stores.

I don't think it's the job of any hardware manufacturer to burn extra money to establish their own supply chains to get around these asshole scalpers. Especially console companies, who start out selling these machines at a loss to begin with.

Retail needs to get their shit together, that's their part of the equation. But I guess Walmart and friends don't exactly have a problem with moving shit as fast as possible, they want their cut. It's about money, as you say.

Lastly, there wouldn't be a market for scalpers if all the zero patience pathetic lemmings wouldn't buy from them and pay more than is warranted. I spit on you, lemmings.

I was in a gamestop the other day selling my switch+games and the employee tried selling me on a PS5. I scoffed at him and proudly pointed to my Xbox shirt, it was such an alpha move it shook him to his very core and he went silent. I proudly left that Gamestop with my chest out and $20 in-store credit from my trade in value.

But to answer your question, yes. I was able to secure a series X preorder at launch from amazon. The day it arrived I knew it was something special. The box was sleek, bold, and sexy but what truly amazed me was how the packaging was so premium it put my Gucci goods to shame and was oh so accessible and thoughtful making sure every gamer from any walk of life could enjoy the experience. But the magic didn't stop there.

I quickly booted it up, and damn MS really outdid themselves with the QoL features. Games automatically detect and download the next gen versions, but what about the saves? No worries, all the saves are in the cloud as always with xbox. It put me in the game in no time. Soon that Smart Delivery term starts looking less gimmicky and actually matter, this was the most seamless and enjoyable generational switch ever! The Gamepass library is ever growing and vast and fills all my deep crevasse of gaming needs and wants. Between GP and Xbox Rewards, I feel like Xbox is paying me to play games, the value is just killer and with Halo and Forza Horizon around the corner I feel like I'm in a constant state of euphoria.

Just to state it again, yes I bought a Series X and I wish I can shout it from the rooftops every single day.
