With numbers like that I wonder when we will see NMH 3 hit PlayStation?

So it took Xbox One more than a year at least. Let me go look up the exact figure. Edit: XB1 passed 83k the week of November 12th 2017, so it took Xbox One more than 3 years to hit 83k, compared to less than 1 year for Xbox Series. |
Xbox Series should have no problem to obliterate Xbox One sales in Japan soon. I am actually surprised how strongly the OG Xbox started, given it only has about 530K lifetime. It basically must have flatlined after that first year. With a somewhat decent performance XS should be able to reach that eventually. X360 still is the strongest though, and probably will keep that place. Thanks for that graphics.

I think it can top OG Xbox lifetime possibly, though it definitely won't catch up to it this year, as OG Xbox was very front heavy, as you can see on the graph it sold 375k of it's 530k lifetime in just the first 61 weeks. But lifetime though, I think passing 530k is doable for Xbox Series, though MS is going to have to invest into Japan some to pull that off. OG Xbox had Japanese exclusives like Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive 3, Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Otogi, so far Xbox Series has no Japanese exclusives (aside from some small indies), and Xbox's only Japanese 1st party studio is working on a game that will be timed exclusive to PS5, Ghostwire Tokyo (and even then Tango's games appeal more to the west than they do to Japan, Evil Within only sold like 300k in Japan, compared to more than 10x that many copies in the west). Microsoft is going to need to invest in games that appeal to a Japanese market, either acquiring some more Japanese studios, or making some strong JP 2nd party exclusive deals. |
Microsoft already owns a franchise, which is very appealing to the japanese market: Minecraft. Probably one of the strongest IPs in the market, period. I can't see though, how MS possibly utilizes that to boost Xbox Series sadly. But yeah, MS should invest more in japanese IPs like they did back with the X360.
I'm getting all of this from era btw.
TSA PS4:
Media Create Sales: CY 2019 (2018 Dec 31 - 2019 Dec 29)
610./000. [PS4] Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes - Complete Edition (Marvelous) {2019.10.17} (¥3.980) - 2.227 / NEW (1.115 <25,44%>)

That game bombed everywhere.
LT sales and prices etc:
[PS3] No More Heroes: Red Zone Edition (Marvelous Entertainment) {2011.07.21} (¥3,990) - 40,050 / 63,054
[WII] No More Heroes (Marvelous Entertainment) {2007.12.06} (¥7,140) - 13,000 / 27,873
[PS3] No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise (Marvelous Entertainment) {2010.04.15} (¥5,800) - 13,845 / 26,151
[WII] No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle # (Marvelous Entertainment) {2010.10.21} (¥7,140) - 9,463 / 24,308
[360] No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise (Marvelous Entertainment) {2010.04.15} (¥5,800) - 13,105 / 18,991
That PS3 game was rather cheap compared.
No More Heroes sells by far the best in the US. I heard it did pretty well on Amazon and the eshop there.

Yeah, I also saw where Marvelous said that their 2020 Switch port of the original No More Heroes from Wii had strong sales in both North America and Europe. So I guess it's just Japan that has fallen out of love with the series over the years. |
The first two games sold really well on the eshop here in Europe, so I had high hopes for NMH III, but it didn't show up, neither on the eshop nor on Amazon. So I think in Europe it's the price. The first two went for 20€.

That's a cool graph. Xbox 360 got a huge bump around holiday 2006. I think the Xbox Series could have that big bump this holiday as well.
Just like last week Series X|S had a very similar split between X and S. 2848 X and 2821 S
