For me, the peak of the franchise is undoubtedly Final Fantasy VI...

Now THAT is a remake I would love to see...if it is faithful to the original in the same way Trials of Mana was (but with a higher budget).

Yeah, there are 2 Square games I would really like to see Trials of Mana tier remakes for, FF6 and Chrono Trigger. Neither game needs a huge, multi-game AAA budget remake like FF7 is getting, a Trials of Mana tier AA remake would be fine for both of them, updating the games with semi-modern 3D graphics while staying true to the original gameplay and art design as much as possible. I would also like to see FF8 remade at some point, though I would want it's remake to be more in-line with FF7 Remake, though only a single AAA game instead of 3 or 4 of them, lol.

Since I haven't played them all I don't find myself qualified to vote yet. I've only beaten 7 and 9. Of those two, 7 is the better one. I'm a good chunk into 8 and don't like it lol. I also have been told Bravely Default 1 is essentially a FF game and I'm probably 1/2 to 2/3 it on my 3ds and so far I like even more than FF7.

Ah look, the twice yearly thread of What's your favorite FF game.

Final Fantasy VI, mainly because I love the cast of characters (easily one of my favorites in JRPGs, if not my favorite) and how their back stories are very well developed, and the main story just has so many moving and memorable moments. Also, Kefka is probably my favorite villain in video games.

Second place would be FFXII mainly because I love its world and how fleshed out it is, both in terms of the story of the different areas/cities and the sense of adventure that you get from exploring the areas. I also like the battle system a lot, as well as the political tone of the story.

Third place would be FFIX, mainly because it's just a magic experience with very charming characters (though some like Amarant feel kinda underdeveloped) and many memorable moments (I think this is an aspect where the older FF games really excel at). Also, this game probably has my favorite love story in JPRGs, i.e. the one between Garnet and Zidane.

Having said that FFXII and FFIX could switch positions depending on my mood.

FF7 (favourite), then 9 (best one), then 8 and 12, then 6, then X, then 5, then 3, then 4. Rest not really played all through. Not played FF15 at all, nor 11. Didn't play FF14 for long but want to give it another go.

Hmm, pie.

My Top 3:
1. FFIX (best game overall, not just FF)

I have high hopes for FFXVI, because I loved what I seen about it so far.

VI, what makes it my favorite is the amount of memorable set pieces through the game, very neat.

The three I enjoyed the most were FF7, FF6, and FF9 in that order.

I've had to decide to put only the better entries as individual options while the lesser games are lumped together in "Other"

Why are shitty games like 12 & 15 options then?

Because there isn't a total of 9 good Final Fantasy games.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.
