Been playing it quite a bit. While it is fun. I think it is much worse than most Warriors games. The closest comparison actually is Dragon Quest Heroes, which I enjoyed quite a bit more. If people enjoy this one, consider also buying Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 on Switch.

Yes from all the spin offs DQ heroes are the best.  Well did not play HW yet.

I really don’t want to play a DW game. Is the story important for BOTW’s lore? Is it canon. I really don’t wanna buy this game.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

Then don't do it. As far as I can say, the story enlightens characters from 100 years ago, but I am not sure if it is canon actually. But if you just want the story, watch the cutscenes on Youtube or so. I am sure someone uploads them soon. The game is not a Zelda-game, it has Warriors gameplay and is a Warriors game.

It's my first Warriors game and I'm playing it for more than 5 hours now. I'm really enjoying it. Gameplay is fun, framerate is sometimes way below 30fps with more than 100 enemies on the screen. I think they really put much effort into this game to keep the BOTW mood. Doesn't look like a cheap cash grab to me if you look at the completely different attacks of every charakter, the titan mini games and the integration of food and all the other things you know from BOTW.

I wasn't expecting much from the story, so I'm not disappointed. It's OK. I don't know any Zelda game with a really good story (haven't played Skyword Sword yet).

The framerate's not perfect but it's better than the first Hyrule Warriors on Wii U or indeed BOTW itself on Wii U for that matter, so I gotta give it that.

I'm not sure if it's better than BotW on Wii U, because that version of BotW dropped to the mid-20s but only in certain locations. This game in comparison drops more recurrently.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

BOTW on Wii U could lock to an almost flatline 20fps in demanding scenes, including not only almost any built up or heavily vegetated area, but also combat with larger mobs. It was never unplayable but in my experience having played over 100 hours of BOTW on Wii U and about 3 hours of Age of Calamity, the latter runs smoother.

Mine just came in the mail. I'll finish Crosscode, and then get to work on Age of Calamity. Hopefully I can get a completionist run just in time for Cyberpunk to come out.

3 hours might not be enough to have gotten a certain character that makes frames drop drastically.

Yep, I just got to that point, yikes haha.

I mean it's not unplayable but boy oh boy that could've used some work. Ah well.
