I agree, all the panic only increases the damage and instead of focussing on the weak we tend to just focus on the bigger slice of people that do not have to face danger from this because now that we can get a slight cold from this it is suddenly important.

Now the weak will die from it and on top of that we get the economic damage from the panic,panic is never a resolve.

Exactly.

Everyone will suffer if we all panic, but the most affected will be the ones that don't have much money to begin with.Simply because they won't have a backup money reserve to use if they were ever in this situation.

We are already in shit and a crisis is unavoidable at this point in my opinion.Let's just hope it isn't as bad as I think it will be.

"That isn't even that dangerous". Scale up the numbers. It's disasterously dangerous and not just for old people, the mortality rate in young people is low because they have hospitals to go to ICUs. When the hospitals are filled the mortality rate slides downward to younger and younger people and it shoots of the scales compared to the numbers we already have. If you don't take the measures now and in time, millions die. If you don't take the measures at all hundreds of millions die and scoiety falls apart. 

Man, I hope you don't have to see this play out that badly for you to understand the problem. There is not enough hospitals or staff to treat these numbers, there aren't enough ICU beds nor equipment. There will be people dying at home with no help for them, young and old. Maybe you, maybe one of your family. Surely you aren't alone in this world with noone who this isn't a death sentence for in the best of outcomes? If so, take it seriously. If not, that's a pity but still take it seriously. 

I'm done replying. I can't deal with somone who can't look beyond their own selfish slice of life to help others who are in need of mortal help right now. Peace. 

The last big outbreak we had was the Swine Flu.It was estimated that the number of infected was between 700 million to 1.4 billion people.1.4 billion!!!!

And yet we survived that."Only"(relative to the population of the world) around 200k people died though, according to my 10 second research.I'm not saying that 200k is insignificant, but you guys are talking about millions dying.It's not happening.

We have been through worse diseases than this.While the Swine flu was less dangerous, it's infection rate was far higher and we already forgot about this.People have a really bad memory and keep forgetting that not only this shit happens regularly, but we always manage to beat it without it destroying humanity.

So yes, go take a walk, drink a few cups of Coke and calm yourself.The death toll will never reach the million, and probably wont even come close to the scale of damage that the Swine Flu did.

You can call me a cold person, a shit person or just egoistic piece of shit.You can tell yourself whatever you want, as long as that calms you down.Statiscally speaking, you wont die, and neither will your dad, so make damn sure that after this is behind us, you still have money to pay your bills.

Italy is really not helping anyone by their shitty indiscriminate counting of the dead. There should be clear guidelines as for when it's allowed to attribute a person's death to a specific illness. I want to assume incompetence but at this scale I can only assume some hidden agenda, it's not like Italy has a great track record with governments.

We don't need to be wishing for anyone's death ever, but especially not from this virus in this thread.  I don't care what the man has done and what your beef is with him.  And while I think you're mostly just taking a jab at the dude mostly in jest, political comments and commentary probably should be kept in the politics forum.

It's not just a bad flu, and yep the bad flu (swine flu) already killed 12K people in the US and required 250K people to go to a hospital. This is more contagious and can potentially put tens of millions of Americans in the hospital.
