Haven't read the whole thread yet, but I will say browsing this site on a phone was terrible. I haven't tried again recently, so maybe it got better, but I doubt it. So I only come on here on a PC, and that really limits my time here. This site needs a mobile version that will work well in the Android version of Google Chrome.

I use Chrome on my mobile all the time, and I don't see nearly HALF the problems people complain about (unless those problems are ad related, because I don't get ads).

So - exactly WHAT is the problem with mobile????

I see no real problems on mobile, using Chrome on Android.  There were some a few months ago.  But, they were effectively addressed.

I should also note that I don't get ads, so that is certainly helping my mobile experience.  Well worth the small fee to subscribe.

1. I just tried the dark theme and it looks better now than when I first tested it out (when you released it).

2. Just for security - every site that takes itself seriously has this. If you want examples, ResetERA and the current NeoGAF have the option to do this.

3. Literally the only site that has this issue, and it even happens on mobile - its not my home network because even when I use mobile data on my phone when I am away from home, it happens.

Maybe if you got your head out of your ass, you would remember me mentioning this on Discord (that and know how to actually spell too) l0l.

I'll probably get banned for this post but at this point, dont really give a shit, a flying fuck or whatever cheerio ass people think.

 - So yeah, I've probably made a half dozen posts regarding the status of the various themes and their development over time. And yes, they were not 100% complete when they were released (hell, they're not 100% complete today!!) - but then again, I'm only one person attempting to develop and test an entire website, so it's hard to catch every single problem. Unlike ResetEra, our resources are EXTREMELY limited so I depend on you all to tell me what's broken so that it can be addressed. Using a feature, deciding that it doesn't work to your satisfaction, and then dismissing it entirely helps no one.

 - I just wasted my time creating an account on ResetEra to see the 2FA - and I still, for the life of me, cannot understand why on earth they offer this. What information could you possibly be hosting on their website, that you feel requires this level of security???? 2FA is more of a nuisance than anything else, unless you have extremely sensitive information sitting around (of which, there is ZERO here on VGChartz).

 - I've asked @jlauro to look into this connection issue thing, as I personally have never seen this. I have no idea what on earth could be causing that, and since I don't see it, I can't even attempt to replicate. Perhaps he'll have some answers because I have none.

oh thank god I thought I was the only one having these problems.
That has been an issue for at least half a year. I'm at work now using good old IE11 and everything works fine.
I'm using Firefox at home and I'm getting a connection time out exclusively on VGChartz about every 5 minutes.

I blame Discord.

Nah, just a bit of banter :P I actually respect the work Kirby has been putting into his Prediction League, despite having nothing to do with it myself, lol

You are an evil soul.

By the way, does anyone care about the prediction league?

I do, I think it is entertaining.

Most people care more about the notifications from the PL then the PL itself

Yeah, I can relate. I was that guy, for the 5 minutes it took for me to realize I could just turn them off.

This actually gives me an idea. As there was also in the other thread users that were annoyed by the notifications, maybe the notification-site should contain a visible box at the top informing the users they can configure which notifications they get with a link to the preferences. Maybe less people complain about the notifications, if they are presented with the option to turn them off right away. @TalonMan what do you think?

Discord is better for some uses, I agree. But first you have to be included in a Discord-community. The only one I'm in is a spinoff from VGC (and actually has a VGC-channel), so it doesn't really draw me away from the site. But it may reduce activity. I also see differences in usage. Discussion and partly short news fit well in Discord. Long posts which I need time to research are nothing I would ever consider doing on Discord.

What you need to make the site back to activity again is MS sell near PS so console wars get back and MS users get back to the site as well. A lot of people left because they couldn't brag about X1. Also sales discussion died down.

I agree with Don, selnor getting banned was partly the beginning of the end

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I think two more points should be noted: Competition and fatigue.Ill name people just for the sake of giving examples, I dont mean to fight or to provoke anyone.

Competition is pretty obvious.Discord have sucked alot of traffic from (probably) alot of forums, since it is more convenient for alot of people.

But I think that, at least for VGC, fatigue is the biggest problem of all.Not necessarily from the forum itself, but rather from its users. Its hard to explain, but I think that everyone who has been here at least two years or so understand the feeling its ideas being dismissed or disliked, of ideas that you are so passioned about and people brushing it off or being agressive.

And I mean, thats no one fault.I think we all here are passionate about a game or another, and about one or two topics. And the same will be true about the opossite, about people being completely oppossed about a stance or another. That on itself isnt a problem. Most of the users can take the hit and move on, or understands that its all a discussion and thats how things work. But then it happens one time. Then two. Then five. Then 10 times.By the time you noticed, you are either so used to the forum or so tired of your opinions being either treated as "garbage" or stupid, that you either lash out, or get tired of participating.

Just to give an example of this:I am certainly part of this trend, having recently discussed with Chazore on a similar level, when he made the topic about Epic buying Psyonix.I am one that dosent care that much about PC gaming(though I do play on PC) and favor more consoles, and Chazore is one that loves PC and(and thats my impression) cares little if nothing about consoles. So obviosly we didnt see eye to eye.But since I already had an history with him, here and on discord, I already started the discussion with my left foot. And while it was wrong, I will admit I enjoyed it.And I think thats one of the biggest problems of this forum.People, myself included, eventually takes things personally.I have been blocked off from Versus profile, I have been called a Nintendo fanboy worse than goodnightschroom(I think thats his name) by Pokoko(why, only god knows).

And that accumulates. And people stop discussing with you, with your threads. And you do the same. And thus the cycle continues.Thats why new users are so important, but they are not joining by the reasons people have already stated here.

I dont know, I dont think VGC is that bad in terms of engagement, but yeah we arent as active as Resetera. But I think thats also the reason why you feel as you do about this forum Zuzek, being so small that you know most users.

You know what?. I too took a few things personally, but I know you on discord, and I know I was just heated up from all the news trying to make Epic sound like a good guy and Valve a bad one.

I'm sorry for our previous exchange though. I should have worded it better.
