The problem is that the dumb orange man made things worse not better. He did not bring down the trade deficit, it increased. When all the other big hitters wanted to join into a trade agreement without China to put pressure on China to change their ways and reign them in, the dumb orange idiot stated trade wars are easy until he had to kiss China ass when he found out that he was not doing jack to China but instead hurting Americans. The funny part is that China was pretty much wise to his game and when the orange idiot did not follow through on his end of the bargain neither did China.

Just the whole handling of China was wrong because he tried to take credit instead of actually being smart enough to work with other nations to isolate China global expansion, believing that China cannot absorb just one country tariffs. Its not like he was not told this in the beginning but he used complete idiots who are more yes man then people willing to tell him he is wrong and thus here we are. So no, trying to paint the orange dumb idiot in a good light really is a waste of time because he never did anything for anyone benefit but his own and when it fails all he does is blame everyone else.

As for Biden going to Saudia to try to negotiate and get prices down on gas in the face of Saudia human rights issue, lol, when has America ever care about anything more than their own self interest. You act as if this is something new but its been the US MO since the nation was created.

Major countries were polled and all of them, except one, saw improvements (some massive) in their opinion of the US. The only country who’s opinion of the US dropped, was China.

Trump liked to tell his slack-jawed voter base that he was tough on China and would help American manufacturing. His actual policies which included things as stupid as taxing imports of materials required by most US manufacturers - this is something that economists have known is shit policy since the days of mercantilism—but hundreds of years later, somehow Trump missed the memo. And in the era of capitalism, he also fucked up hard, disrupting trade relations between the US and other Western nations, and ended up destroying US manufacturing instead of doing anything to China - instead demand and dependency on Chinese manufacturing.

It was profoundly foolish that the US trusted their economy in the incompetently tiny hands of Donald Trump. A man most famous for being a slow-witted reality TV show character and repeatedly going bankrupt.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Talking about the dumb orange man, talking about the price gouging of big oil, talking about what it means to actually represent the people, Bernie Sanders and Lindsey Graham go head to head

Don’t you mean “JINA”?

Its interesting that Trump and his crew would do the whole fund raising on his defense and then not even setup the fund itself to cover their tracks on spending that money. I mean its pretty much basic con 101 in covering your butt. I am guessing that Trump relied way to much on the GOP to shelter him from his own greed because that blunder actually might be something Garland can stick him on wire fraud. Should be interesting in the next 6 months how this all pans out.

I know from experience that it will not stop support from the Trump faithful. I actually remember having this conversation with a friend of mine who worshipped everything Trump and I brought how all the money he was raising was going to his PAC after the election and she just game some excuse that all will be revealed. I am sure they are already either dismissing what they have heard, ignoring to even think on it as political or drumming up excuses to fill in the gap.

Opinion | Democrats can’t have it both ways about the threat of GOP extremism - The Washington Post

June 15, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. EDT

"So why are Democrats and their associated dark-money groups meanwhile spending millions to boost the campaigns of election-denying extremist Republicans in contested primaries?

They include candidates for House, Senate and governor, and some took part in Trump’s “stop the steal” rally on Jan. 6, 2021, though not necessarily in the riot that immediately followed. In Pennsylvania, state legislator Doug Mastriano, a Jan. 6 rally participant, has already won the GOP nomination for governor with an ad boost paid for out of the campaign treasury of the Democratic nominee, state attorney general Josh Shapiro.

The Machiavellian rationale for this little stratagem, documented in Tuesday’s Post by reporter Annie Linskey, is that, come November, Democrats stand a better chance of winning against “ultra MAGA” extremists.

This should stop. The hypocrisy is painfully obvious: How can Democrats portray Trumpism as a danger to democracy while backing its proponents’ campaigns?

Worse than unprincipled, the strategy is reckless...."

LMAO if any of these Democratic funded "Ultra MAGA" candidates actually flip any Democrat seats.

Biden’s Visit To Saudi Arabia Exposes The Ukraine Narrative For The Sham It Is

In a major walkback from his campaign pledge to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah” for human rights abuses like the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, President Biden will reportedly visit Riyadh with the goal of persuading Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to help the US alliance win its economic war against Russia.

The Guardian tells us the trip “suggests Biden has prioritized his need to bring oil prices down and thereby punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, over his stand on human rights.”

So in order to punish Vladimir Putin for his war crimes and his assault on freedom and democracy, Biden will be courting a tyrannical war criminal whose country has no freedom or democracy.

Washington will be ending its brief diplomatic dry spell with a government that has been waging a horrific war against Yemen while suppressing any semblance of human rights at home in order to more effectively punish Putin for waging a horrific war against Ukraine which we’re told threatens freedom and democracy throughout the western world.

A lot of people talk about the “hypocrisy” of the US empire, as though being hypocritical is the issue. But the complete lack of moral consistency in US imperial behavior is noteworthy not merely because of hypocrisy: it’s noteworthy because it shows the US empire has no morality.

Despite the astonishing deluge of propaganda and brazen government disinformation we’re being blasted in the face with painting the war in Ukraine as a fight between good versus evil, freedom versus tyranny, democracy versus autocracy, the truth is much less flattering to the imperial ego. In reality, the US is waging a proxy war in Ukraine for the exact same reason it remains close with Saudi Arabia: because it advances its own interests to do so.

That’s it. That’s the whole entire story. The US doesn’t care about Ukrainian freedom or Ukrainian lives, it cares about strengthening its Eurasian geostrategic hegemony, and it would cheerfully incinerate every Ukrainian alive in order to accomplish that goal.

In truth, when you look at its overall behavior on the world stage, the US is far more murderous and tyrannical than either Russia or Saudi Arabia . Pretending that Biden is lowering the United States beneath its values by visiting Saudi Arabia is highly flattering to the US. If anything, it’s the other way around.

I don't agree with everything in this article, but it's great to put things in perspective every once in a while.

More embarrassingly, it looks like China is single-handedly humiliating the west by keeping Russia alive;

I remember arguing with many idiots here that China should be stopped and manufacturing should definitely be brought back and it is a hill worth dying on, it is a matter of national security, but nope, how dare I say anything that paints the dumb orange man in a positive light. "Let's wait for automation to completely take over before we bring the factories", as if these robots and the tech behind them will not need factories, the infrastructure or the IPs to make them in the first place.

A con artist he is, but letting China be the manufacturer of the world is among the stupidest things the USA let happen, all for short-term greed so the oligarchs can get richer. I have always known the west is a lot weaker than we believe, but even then, I am astonished how easily Ukraine is being dismantled in front of our very eyes and how China's support for Russia is unhinged and we can do nothing about it.

Shhh! The Jan Sixth Show is on.

The midterms are coming, Biden's approval is way down from the start of his presidency, the pendulum really swung the other way when he showed he couldn't get a hugely popular socialist bill funded like the Green new deal, Universal Health Care, free college tuition, higher minimum wages, etc etc.. leaving a whole generation of younger people disillusioned

Many in the "moderate" Dems and Reps have accused Biden of pandering to the left and this is why he will likely fail in the midterms, even though he has done virtually nothing the progressives have asked for

You have people in the elites not able to analyse actual facts on the ground, or worse wilfully ignoring their own mistakes at the cost of those least able to afford it

It is truly eye opening how far the elites have talked themselves into wearing a blindfold to reality, by the way the US isnt unique in this either

The rule of law and economics only applies to those who can't afford to bribe their way out

Anyone else worry seeing Biden collapse from his bike?

Texas GOP adopts resolution rejecting 2020 election results

"We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States,"

Now entire state delegations are outright rejecting democracy - in the wake of the January 6th hearings, no less. The descent into fascism is now a freefall.
