It kinda baffles me that a party that has a majority support for getting rid of the electoral college still uses delegates and caucuses to decide a nominee.

Those 2 are linked.  You can't get rid of caucus/primary delegates until you get rid of the electoral college.

I didn't know that. Well both systems suck.

With the voting results app issue delaying everything, I'm getting really sick of the incompetence on display by everybody involved in election IT.

It's not the IT team for the DNC has any decision making authority. The ineptitude of the DNC has been on display for a long time now and this is another blunder to add to the tally.

Early reports show Sanders ahead of the pack with Warren not that far behind, Pete in third and Biden and Amy in the distance tied for 4th...

Those results only account for 1.9% of the total vote.

Yes, and RCP can confirm this, you're absolutely correct. But they're numerous reports just coming out on Twitter saying about the same thing. Only differences I see in some is that sometimes Pete would be in 2nd and Warren in third.

Of course still too early to tell the definitive winner.

Supposedly a lot of Yang supporters flocked to Sanders when Yang wasn't viable. I believe it.

So, two takeaways so far.

1. Another DNC-blunder:

Really, I don't understand how they could let this happens. It is the very important first caucus!

2. It seems no clear winner at this point, but every early reporting I see is basically telling Joe Biden is toast. I mean, on RCP he is in fifth, below 15%! Yes, that is a miniscule of precincts. But that matches what we hear from the campaigns, that he is far fourth behind the leaders Sanders, Warren and Buttigieg or even losing to Klobuichar and ending up fifth. A second or third place with decent vote result would've been acceptable, but these reports spell disaster for his campaign. If that turns out to be true, we will see a bloody fight between Buttigieg, Klobuchar and Bloomberg for his voters and maybe Biden trying to hold on a bit longer.

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

One thing is clear, Biden is the biggest loser. The most "electable" candidate, or so we've been told.

God, the Democrats are useless

You can see the early results here on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Iowa_Democratic_caucuses#Results

And it's a slaughtering for Biden so far. 25% for Bernie. 22 for Warren, 18 for Buttigieg... and just 13 for Biden, even a few votes behind Klobuchar!
