Why don't you remind me then?

Go back and reread our posts.  That will help you remember.

I remember it very well, I was just playing along with you.

In your first post you said Sony asks for the criticism they get, because they boast about their games having better graphics than other games.

"However Sony kind of asks for criticism.  It tries to distinguish itself from Nintendo especially by saying how much better the graphics are in the Sony games."

But you didn't provide any evidence of them doing such thing, so I asked you when did they do that, but you choose not to answer my question and now here we are.

If you still think I'm missing something, please tell  me exactly what it is, that would be very appreciated :)

There you go kids. No downgrade at all.

The sentence below is false.
The sentence above is true.

This reminds me of some of the lazy reasoning why God can't exist. (Just making a point, not trying to question anyone's religion)

God is love. God creates the universe. The universe leads to life. Life isn't perfect. God must not be real and/or sucks so don't bother.

PS is 4 the players. PS creates great ecosystems. Great ecosystems lead to great games. Games aren't perfect. PS are liars and/or suck so don't bother.

That reveal for zelda looked pretty cinematic to me despite the cartoon graphics. They revealed the trailer and led people to believe the final product would look like that. Watch some YouTube comparisons to see how big the downgrade was. But no massive backlash at launch.

Literally the only reason that is a talking point on VGC is because I brought that up more than a year ago... immediately after I did people made threads expressing outrage. Lmao. You're preaching to the choir.

As far as the trailer being "cinematic", I honestly do not think it was misleading. It was just a short reveal meant to show a surprising new world. All first trailers of games are that linear and vague (or "cinematic"). Most trailers for games are more cinematic than the  games but they don't advertise the game itself as being such. I DO think the final trailer was misleading, because it made me expect a great story and what we got was mediocrity.

Like any Zelda games (except Skyward Sword) to begin with.

If I wanna read a good Zelda story I just get the manga's adaptation instead.

I just think people should stop putting so much stock into graphics.

I agree. People focus way too much on them that it becomes a near obsession at times.

Like, pretty graphics are nice and all, but have you played games that are fun, engaging, and have a great story? I'd rather play something crisp and precise like Bayonetta to Crysis any day. Hell, most of the games I've been playing this year are remasters from last gen or before, virtual console SNES/GBA games, indies, or are inspired by SNES games. The only 'AAA' game I've played all year that I love is God of War. The other games I've spent the most time with are:

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2
Octopath Traveler
Hollow Knight
Axiom Verge
Dark Souls Remastered
Skyrim Special Edition
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Might not count since WiiU/Switch are same generation)
Owlboy
Minecraft
Sonic Mania
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X HD
Final Fantasy XII HD

Other than that, yeah. I think Donkey Kong might count as current gen AAA and God of War definitely is. other than that, everything else has simple graphics, is indie, is a remake from past generations, or is deliberately harkening back to the 90's. Graphics are nice and they definitely help a game stand out, but they are a means to an end.

You are misinterpreting what I meant.

I am saying that graphics is one of the main selling points of a Sony game.  It is what they advertise.  When they advertise they they have great graphics, then that is one way they distinguish themselves from Nintendo.

So since graphics are more of a selling point for Sony, then they invite criticism when their graphics appear better in a trailer than at home.  Nintendo can do the same thing and people don't care as much, since graphics is not really what they advertise.

This is authentically what I meant.  You seemed to be have been upset over something that I wasn't trying to say in the first place.  I hope this clears things up.

Well I haven't seem this happen at VGC since forever and I don't check other sites.

The first time I remember this type of conversation was Killzone 2's intro that argument started out about pre rendered versus real time but when the game came out it turned to whether it was a downgrade.

I get what you're saying now, but don't agree with it though. Sorry if I sound aggressive in my responses, I wasn't upset, it's just that I hate when people spread misinformation or accuse people or companies of doing things they didn't, but now I see that I was misinterpreting your point, so sorry about that too.

Good.  I'm glad we cleared things up.
