Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Exclusives Attacked For Being Downgraded

So it seems like there's always a flood of reports leading up to a Sony exclusive release about the game being downgraded visually and controversy ensues.

This problem isn't exclusive to Sony- but it sure seems Sony's exclusives are heavily targeted.

Some notable examples:

Then these games came out to critical acclaim and all looked visually stunning.  The downgrade claims were quickly silenced - but the troll sites that made those claims do the same thing for the next release and the process repeats itself over and over.
Wish those same troll sites were held accountable for publishing false information.  Hate to think they convinced anyone not to play any of these great games because of their lies.

It's an act of pure desperation.

Basically the anti-Sony camp desperately clings into the slightest bit of potential Sony misfire and they make it seem like this colossal 'concern' for Sony and PS4. We saw it with the lack of DLNA early on, then it was the lack of 4K Blu-ray drive on PS4 Pro, and now it's the consistent and annoying cross-play nonsense turned into this massive blown out issue.

All the while, the slightest change of the graphics in any of the Sony's high profile games lead to this ridiculous and downright baseless controversy.

This just shows how miserable and petty some people can be.

True while the actual huge downgrades like those of Sea of Thieves and State of Decay go unnoticed because those games had much bigger problems and no one even thought to talk about how much shittier they looked compared to their demos (which weren't good looking to begin with).

This... state of decay had a huge downgrade, and it wasnt really in the news steams from gameing sites.
Oh its buggy? well free pass, State of decay always had bugs its fine.

Does seem like theres double standards for MS vs Sony.

Sony, isn't unfairly targeted. They're just the only ones still making AAA exclusives that could be downgraded.

I think of these things as nontroversies . Take something which has a minimal if any impact (cross plays impact on a Staten with 80m users) and then try and blow it up and spin it until it almost makes a story. Best ignored for the most part and just enjoy the games.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Most were upgraded upon release, GOW and HZD notably.

What? Who thought GOW was downgraded? The differencr between pre footage and release is pretty massive in favor of release

I think a lot of the reasons Sony gets more flack than others is because the fan base of Sony defends Sony to the point where they don't think Sony does anything wrong, ever. But the fact at the end of the day is that all companies downgrade their games, Nintendo,Microsoft,Sony, third parties(im looking at you Ubisoft). It's common place for this. So its wrong for Sony to only be targeted for this and that isn't really fair. But it is what it is, best to just ignore all the noise and just enjoy the games were given.

Simply ignore these reports. No reason to even dwell on the thought especially if the game is good regardless.
